Credit-Crunched wrote: »oh, i also forgot to ask, this crusade against PPP, do you think of the human cost, the amount of jobs lost and will be lost as lenders are losing thousands of accounts to closure...
You stated you had no sympathy for the banks, but how about the everyday people who work for them, i.e Me and 160 other people in my company made redundant.
This relentless crusade hits everyday people on the other side of the fence as much if not more than the people claiming for mis sales.
Like i said i am not condoning mis selling of insurance, just want your views on adults taking responsibilty for their actions for once.
They were quick enough to spend the loan when they got it, no complaints then eh?
I lost my job becasue people who had entrered into a legal binding contract, decided not to pay, loan goes bad, company writes off debt, we lose our jobs.
Please do not judge all reclaimers of PPI like the people that want to write off loans cause they don't want to pay back what they have borrowed.0 -
Hi there Credit-Crunched.
Yes its a tough time and not getting any easier for anyone right now.
Since this has been in the media about PPI mis selling not all of us were aware of what mis selling was, it just all came out and that's why this is now a big issue here.
To be honest, I was so laid back over the years and as an homemaker I was told I had to have the PPI in order to have the credit.
But then as I said above this have all come out in the media which has given many an opportunity to check over their agreements and realised they were paying for something that they were not covered for.
So since this, like Marshallka here who has been more or less in the same position of being mis sold is seeing others in the same position pay out for costly cover where this can be purchased separately a lot cheaper to suit the needs of that person.
We just like to help where we can and are not experts in this field lol, but because we have experience of being in that position of being mis sold, we like to offer others help who require this and going through this the first time of reclaiming of what their entitled to.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

How can you HELP people on here....???? If you want to help the banks and institutions then perhaps you can start another thread and you will find you will have people posting on it that sympathise with you better.
This one is actually called PPI reclaiming discussion thread and we discuss how to relcaim PPI....
We are all in the same boat and its a bit like dog eat dog I thinks....We have to fight back to survive....Try to look at this from the ordinary working mans point of view.. Even if I worked for a bank and got made redundant cause of all the reclaiming (although I would like to think there may be deeper reasons really!!) I would still say its the fault of the greedy big wigs at the banks and not blame the ordinary man trying to feed his family and keep the roof over his head. (unless I was on the side of the big wigs at the bank perhaps....).

Yep this is a "PPI" only reclaim discussion thread and nothing more.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Di, going to bed now as I have packed in coughing for a short while. .
I an glad you put some input into this thread when someone was knocking the PPI reclaimers. I never ever tell people that ask about their PPI to just reclaim without first asking them why they feel they want to make a complaint. I always ask them "why" and let them say their reasons before giving the link to the guide etc and I really do try to help when someone states they have reasons that are on the guide to the misselling but NEVER guide them without first knowing why they want to reclaim.
I will always try and help people as I really feel I do know what stress debts can bring to a family and PPI in my eyes is often "needless" debt. I will always stand up for what I believe in as if I did not then I cannot really believe in what I am doing here.;)0 -

I took out car finance and I got sucked into this PPI deal, 1 month after I signed the contracts I contacted the dealership and asked them to cancel the PPI and he said that I can cancel but my monthly payments wont change, if I had cancelled within the first 1 days then it would have been a different story. Now 3 months on and read a little more about this was his advise correct?
The PPI was set up on the basis that if the car was written off then the PPI would cover the cost of the finance, nothing was mentioned about health issues or self employment, neither apply to me but could I have been misold this insurance?
The finance is with Barclays Partner Finance I need to check the T & C's but when I called the finance company they said I need to cancel it through the dealership as they set it up for me, as the monthly payment wasnt going to change I just left it at that but now Im looking at it again0 -

Hi fattony
Good to see you here.
Now when you make a complaint or reclaim it is to the ones who arranged the finance for you.
I take it you cancelled after a 30 day cooling period then? Am I correct?
So basically it was agreed by yourself to have the PPI on the grounds for the car then but not explained on health issues, redundancy etc?
Best thing to do here, is check out the reasons here
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance
If any of them occur to you then you have a case, there is also a template letter on the above link, but add your own reasons and as much info in your own words as much as you can.
They have 8 weeks to respond in full, if not successful and this has not gone in your favour, you may be given the opportunity to write to them further with further information, or they will disclose on the letter with an enclosed leaflet that you can now take your complaint to the Financial Ombudsman in order for them to investigate.;)
As always post by recorded delivery for your proof, and let us know what they say hun.
Good luck.

We have had the flu and it is proper flu as its bed ridden us. Now we are just coughing like crazy still and aching. I have a pain really bad in the left side under the ribs. Hubby had had two days off work and broken his god knows how many years record too:eek: . Other than that we are fine thanks...:D
Sorry to hear that Marshallka:( Be careful with that pain under your ribs if it persits it may need a trip to the GP to rule out pleurisy.
Hope you feel better today:ADS1 12/10/04

Received a letter from Tesco PF. They say that they have not yet completed their investigation, and hope to complete within the next 4 weeks, but if this is not possible they will let me know. They state that if I am not happy I could go to the FOS, but hope that I will allow them the opportunity to finish the investigation and respond to my concerns. They will be in touch asap. They have until the 5th of Jan and then the 8 weeks are up. So much for their motto of "every little helps" this money would have surely helped me out for xmas0
