I have had my reply from the adjudicator at last, here::j :jDear MrsThank you for your e-mail. It is my view that your complaint should be upheld and I am currently awaiting a response from the business in relation to points raised with it.Unfortunately due to the limited resources available I am unable to provide a weekly update or progress report. Please be assured that your complaint is actively being worked on and as soon as there are any developments I will let you know. If the business does not agree with my view then the matter can be referred to the Ombudsman for consideration. If you consider due to your circumstances that you wish the matter to be fast tracked to the Ombudsman due to financial difficulty, this can be arranged if you let me know.At present, I expect a response from the business in the next two weeks.Yours sincerelyS

I'm trying to reclaim my PPI from Halifax as I was told I have to have it. The complication is that I wrote to them last year for the same thing and got the normal reply of we're not going to refund it. Stupidly I left it at that and didn't go any further because I couldn't see how I could prove that they said I had to have it. I am going to send the template letter again and see what happens but have I hurt my chances by not following it up the first time? Also what proof would I need that the salesperson told me I had to have the insurance?
One thing they did point out was that I the previous loan I had with them also had PPI. When I paid this loan off early I recieved no refund from the PPI so I have also included this in my complaint."You are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts" - Arthur Schlesinger

Hun I assume the 6 months have well passed by now then.
Write again this time about the 2 loans to the ones who arranged your loan, tell them you have been hearing more in the media of this mis selling of late and feel you have cause to complain and reclaim, also make it out to them this is a brand new complaint and I take it you already have the template for this, let us know if not.;)
Now if they refuse wait for a final decision where they mention the FOS (financial ombudsman service) and if still unsuccessful please then move on to the the FOS, they will look into this for you.
Don't leave it there, keep at them, don't let their standard bog standard fob off letters put you off.;)
You do know they have 8 weeks to respond ?
Post by recorded post, if you require the reclaim template again give us a yell, good luck.;)

Thanks I've got the template letter. I'm not going to let it drop this time. It really annoys me that they think they can get away with it because people don't have the time or energy to keep fighting them."You are entitled to your own opinions but not your own facts" - Arthur Schlesinger
