Hi, could anyone give me some advice on payment protection on credit card! I took out the card in march 07 and I have just noticed there is payment protection on there but I dont recall asking for it?????? Its with alliance and leicester the cashback rewards card...

Hi yes you can claim it back if you feel it was missold. It may have been pre-ticked on a form you filled in for the card. If you do not want this insurance write and cancel it immediately then send a letter from the Claim 1000 Red tab on the home page (Just scroll down you will find relevant info)

Thanks, I applied for card online so did not realise that the box must of been pre-ticked! I will cancel asap and look for that info to reclaim.
Can I just ask, if you claim the money back do they close your credit card account?

They should not close your Credit Card account, my hubby has 2 complaints about 2 credit cards regarding PPI and his are okay.

Who is your account with hun ?

No what they usually do is send you lots of blank cheques to encourage you to put more on the card:rotfl: Seriously I have cancelled it on 5 cards and there have been no repercussions:D

My card is with alliance and leicester.
I know what you mean about the cheques I have a big pile of them!
I have the money back rewards card???? I only use the card for emergencies and I really don't want to lose it. Then again I have worked it out that I have paid over £200 in payment protection!

When you claim do not forget to ask for interest plus 8% you can work this out on the bank charges calculator. Am sure it will be no problem.:D

If they did then this would not be treating you fairly and you could make a complaint for retiliatory action.

What year did you take this card out samjackjord..??
