Hi, I posted a few weeks ago about reclaiming PPI on a Nat West credit card dating back to 1988 after receiving the standard fob off letter and wondered if anyone had any success on claims this old. On the advise of another member I sent them a 2nd letter but once again they are refusing to budge and have suggested that if I'm not satisfied I should take my complaint to the FOS, which for the price of a stamp I'm prepared to do, but I'm not sure if I should request any documents from Nat West first and if so which ones? As it is such a long time ago I don't have the original agreement and as I always settle my bill in full each month I shred each statement after it has been paid. Or should I just admit defeat and stop wasting my time:confused:

Regarding my letter above received today I thought I would sent an email to the FOS consultant in readiness for next week, typical to get an immediate response on a Saturday of an out of office reply here, so it now looks we have to wait flipping longer !!!
Normally we do not even get a reply at all !!

    Thank you for contacting me.

I will be away from the office until Wednesday 03 December 2008.

I will respond to your enquiry on my return.

If you require more immediate assistance, please contact our helpline on 0845 080 1800. Please have your reference number ready.

    Regards
I thought the insurers of the policy were completely different to Endeavour. I don't understand this. I expect the same reply back then on mine... I have complained about the contract terms though and that there was not a cancellation of 14 or 30 days on the policy terms and conditions etc.. Just have to wait and see.

Am gutted for you here Di.. I take it this the final response. Do the FOS now take it on for you...????

    Hi folks

Will catch up on your posts above, a letter arrived this morning, even though its from HFC again its Endeavours logo paperwork, but its the correct department as addressed by the FOS when they sent the details, I am gonna write the letter in another post in a min, not good news I'm afraid.

Di that is bad news am sorry. Have you thought of going down the unmentionables with this cause you seem to have got to the end of the road. Do you feel you may have a case. Have you looked into it. Am sure people can look into it for you or would this not be a case for going down those lines.

    Hi Sue
Have you anything at all in paperwork from these? and is this still active?
I was thinking if this is still active you can request for a copy of a written calculation for where you are at present with them, this way it may be a bit of help towards the documents in case you want to go to the FOS, and because they said you can go to the FOS about this I would contact them and let the FOS know about this and see what they have to say, its up to you but you can tell them you know PPI was included but lack the paperwork where the FOS will investigate by getting in contact with the company to forward what they have, give them a try hun and see what they say here:
    http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/consumer/complaints.htm

There is a contact number plus complaint forms on that link above, please let us know how this goes, cheers and good luck.;)

    Hi Marshallka

I think I am given the runaround here, because HFC bank were obviously the ones who dealt with the rebate in Nov 2005, they are bringing Endeavour in each time and they know Endeavour were only the lender and not the broker, so I have emailed the one from the FOS and have forwarded her a copy of the letter, and also explained that it was her that said it would be the HFC who should be dealing with this as its regarding the rebate.

I have no confirmation from HFC yet though that they had received the details from the FOS, as I had given HFC the details myself 2 days ago so they obviously checked that this was complained about before but on the miss selling side, did you notice they mentioned August 2008 on the letter?

I will see what the FOS say about this next week but still believe its HFC that are responsible and were under jurisdiction but they are hoping that I will not go further with this.

Hope you don't get the runaround again Marshallka hun, wish you more luck that what I have here.;) xxxx

Di do not let them win. You have enough to deal with as a family at the moment. Do not know other stuff but if you get no other way it may be worth considering. Lots of love to you and your family;)
