Dear Mrs xxxxx

Got a letter this am from OFT with regards to my complaint with ff saying:
My complaint has been logged for our records and will add to our understanding of this UK market.
I am sorry to hear of the difficulties you have experienced. The OFT cannot usually take action on cases brought by individual consumers. Our primary duties include the enforcement of competition law, the reg of the consumer credit market through a licensing system and the application of consumer protection legislation in respect of matters that adversely affect the collective interests of UK consumers.
The OFT can also investigate markets that do not appear to be working well for consumers and complaints or info received may be forwarded to one of our market investigation teams for their further consideration.
Very nice letter feel my point has been put across here, the name FF.:wave:0 -
Co-op are refunding the last two loans as all the payments etc and statutory interest etc so as if we never had it as GOODWILL.
This latest offer of the 1999 is also GOODWILL too but would like some views on the wording of the letter...
Firstly the information provided by Mrs M does indicate that the loan taken out in August 1999 was settled in January, 2001. It also confirms the amount of the settlement and refund made in respect of the PPI at the time of settlement. Although we do not have the information regarding the monthly repayments made to the loan, as a gesture of goodwill, I am prepared to accept that all repayments, including the one due on 21st January, 2001 were made. As information will enable me to calculate the amount of the refund applicable I am prepared to arrange a refund and would appreciate it if you could inform Mrs M of this...
Does this sound like they will put me back in the position as if I never had the PPI like with the other two and also include the statutory interest.
I have accepted this on the basis of it being repaid the same as the other two....0 -

It sounds like they are going by your figures given for the refund, did you include stat interest and 8%?
They also state that the info you provided is correct but then are saying they have no info. I'm finding it confusing how they agree about the settlement of the loan but then say they do not have info?
How can you find out how much they are going to refund you, are you able to phone the co-op or fos possibly. They should really refund full amount, interest and 8% to put you back in the position as if you never had ppi:wave:0 -
