PPI Reclaiming discussion Part III

Yes Robbie, it has been known for some to be successful in reclaiming prior to the 6 years.;)
Even though you have rang the department, write a letter over the weekend to cover this call if you can and say:
"Due to our telephone conversation on Friday 21 November 2008, I look forward to receiving the copies of the Agreement and the Breakdown of calculations in the next few days as this was confirmed by yourselves that I will receive these over the next following days", as these documents were missing from the SAR I received.
This way, this is your proof, and also like Marshallka has said is to send by recorded post, this way they know they must provide these as part of the subject access request.
They cannot avoid doing this then, as you have covered this both ways.;)0 -

Yep always best to cover yourself by getting a letter in - recorded delivery, definately.;)
What I do is both, write and ring, sometimes email as well, but yet there is no proof that they have received an email.........especially if they don't get back.
I received my SAR exactly on the 40th day, it was delivered by a special courier, but 2 weeks before that I sent them a reminder letter and email lol.The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I am so impatient and must say I am so lucky to have mine looked at so quick but what I do object to is the business holding the reins and it always seems that way with my experience. I just thought FOS had more clout than they have. I know they are only mutual but surely if they ask the business to respond by certain dates it means exactly that. They give them too many chances and let them get away with far too much....
Also an update is not hard to give if only to say "sorry not heard anything"...a junior could do that...
I'm sorry to moan, I'm broke....:o
Marshallka
I do quite agree that has been my bug bear. They cannot make anything happen. They just pass your complaints over and cannot make anything happen. What I want is you have been given to such and such date and have not responded why? That does not happen. What can we do and where can we go.:mad:0 -
OMG that was 4 months ago........ , what is their problem here ?
Yes its very frustrating..........
Did you mention about a LBA (letter before action) to the adjudicator hun?:mad:0 -
I have not yet Di have been away working and trying to get books vat insurance etc done but will try to get my head round over the weekend. May come back for more info etc:D
No problem hun, I will see if I can find the LBA I used, someone from OTR passed it on to me and yes............it worked.......:DThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

I am the most impatient person out...its a fault of mine and i need to address it...but it really does madden me about these authorities (although i do realise fos is not an authority really!!!) when the business's dictate. Its an offence if i make a late payment to these firms and they charge for it but they have all the time in the world and are ALLOWED to get away with it.
Perhaps you could write some letters about yours maxdp and then charge £30 per letter...lol0 -
marshallka wrote: »Nice one but it might be best to request them by letter too (recorded delivery). I phoned my bank and they took 3 months to send them out as i made the same mistake of phoning..learn't my lesson now...:D
OK guys will do. Thanks0 -

Think I am going to charge them £50.00 per hour.:D:mad:0 -
Hi everyone,
First post on this one...After a v successful reclaim of bank charges I thought it about time I tried claiming back the old PPI! I sent a letter to Lloyds TSB who i had loans with over the past 5/6 years asking for details of my loan ppi etc. Today I have received 3 seperate letters from them detailing each loan I had with them.
My questions are: Each letter details the loan amount, loan monthly repayments and loan ppi monthly payment. At the top of this info it states 'Loan Protection Insurance Loan Advance' and then an amount. I take it this is the total of PPI per loan? If so, my total is £7672.77 in PPI. Do I then add the 8% interest to that?
Any advice most gratefully received....I can then send the next letter to them! Oh, also, I am going to be stating that I was never told I didn't have to have the PPI. Are people just as successful with this reason as with some of the other reasons?
Kind Regards
