Hi there hun
You may have a choice here then, however the FOS do state 8 weeks, or they may come back to you on this, so wait until the 8 weeks and take it from there, if your unsure about this, I would contact the FOS explain to them, also tell them that they have mentioned the Financial Ombudsman Service.
I note that they said about a delay.
When would the 8 weeks be up hun ?
If you received nothing by the full 8 weeks then I would say go to the FOS, another letter may not be required, or see what Marshallka suggests here if you want to.;)
Hi Di.
Thinking on what you say I agree with you and think i ought to keep to the patch and wait for the 8 weeks are up and file this away in the portfolio.
I wrote to them initially on the 21st October so the 8 weeks are up on the 16th December. Fingers crossed

Just checked all my agreements for the co-op and I make the payment that we should be receiving back over £6K...Can't wait to see what amounts they offer...
...
I did these calculations a couple of months back too so more really with the extra interest.. they have stated in the letter that they are holding back the payment in redress of the two loans until we accept (or not but we are accepting now) the other one too and leave that as full and final. I know we are short of the other loan but do not have the paperwork for that one so will have to.. . Still it is a fair amount if they pay what amounts I have here... :j ...
Should get this in time for christmas too. Will certainly ease the load so to speak.. and pay off some debts too.0 -

This is brilliant news hun....... :T :j xxx
I can't see mine being dealt with in time....the one about Lloyds.... Although I thought this may have been more or less straight forward.
I had a thought about the HFC one today too, wonder what they will say about the unfair rebate one, now that's only been over a week I think.
I am wondering if HFC will write back to the FOS and do what Hamilton done, pass the buck !The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Just have to wait and see I suppose but at least yours is being looked into.0 -
marshallka wrote: »I don't know on that one Di... at least yours is moving, mine is at a stand still and its the not knowing whether or not its being dealt with that is the worst. I can wait now for a while but all I want to know is that they will look into this and have wanted to know this since May and still none the wiser. Its so annoying this is..I noticed Tiggrae made an appearance the other day but when I asked her about these unfair rebates she had dissappered again..

Thanks hun, yes it could be worse.;)
It would be good if you did hear an update on that one as its gone on too long in my opinion, hopefully it will be good news.
I think its either nothing or everything comes at once.
Have you anything else to deal with after the unfair rebate one ?The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
This letter was dated the 12th November so it was either that day or just before the FOS had sent off the details to HFC, so better use the date as from 12 Nov for the 8 weeks.
Dear Mr & Mrs
12 November 2008
Your complaint about HFC Bank Limited
I refer to my letter of 04 November 2008 in which I advised you that the complaint would be registered against Hamilton Insurance Company.
I have received a response from Hamilton Insurance who is now part of Norwich Union.
The firm have advised me that the insurance rebate is a matter for the HFC Bank to address as it falls solely within their remit.
I have therefore sent HFC your details of your complaint and have asked them to deal with the matter.
They should issue a final response in writing within 8 weeks of the date they hear from us.
For your information the HFC banks Address is:
Mr Siggers
HFC Bank Limited
120 Edmund Street
Birmingham
West Midlands
B3 2QZ
On receipt of HFC Bank's final response, if you feel that they have not put things right, or alternatively you have not heard from them after 8 weeks, please return the complaint form together with any other supporting documentation.
Yours sincerely
Consumer Consultant
