This latest offer of the 1999 is also GOODWILL too but would like some views on the wording of the letter...
Firstly the information provided by Mrs M does indicate that the loan taken out in August 1999 was settled in January, 2001. It also confirms the amount of the settlement and refund made in respect of the PPI at the time of settlement. Although we do not have the information regarding the monthly repayments made to the loan, as a gesture of goodwill, I am prepared to accept that all repayments, including the one due on 21st January, 2001 were made. As information will enable me to calculate the amount of the refund applicable I am prepared to arrange a refund and would appreciate it if you could inform Mrs M of this...
Does this sound like they will put me back in the position as if I never had the PPI like with the other two and also include the statutory interest.
I have accepted this on the basis of it being repaid the same as the other two....
In my opinion Marshallka going by what they have wrote, it looks as if they are going to put you back in the position as if you did not have the PPI to start with hunni.:T :T   , wow this has made me feel a lot happier now:D , even though mine is still being dealt with, I'm sure it will all come out to be fine at the end of the day.;)
I bet you feel relieved ?
Blimey you worked so hard with these and you so deserve this and more.
 , Congratulations Marshallka, lets hope you get this money through all in good time before Xmas.:D :A xxThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi all
Posted my two letters today to GE money to claim back the account cover on both accounts. I have been paying this for 6 years at £1.00 per £100 on Miss Selfridge and £1.50 per £100 on my Topshop account - I was a student for 4 years (including when I took out the accounts) so doubt I was covered at all!!! Heres hoping I get something back and can whack off another credit card............fingers crossed guys! anyne had any dealings with GE money at all in trying to reclaim insurance/account cover which was mis-sold?
Thanks
L xxxDFD - April 2011 - come on!!:T0 -
I emailed DFS to ask for details of the credit agreement they were very quick and helpful, they told me First national Tricity finance.
Need to send off for details don't know if they added ppi or not was not discussed.
Good luck
I found my PPI on the welcome letter from Hitachi Capital Finance, just as I was about to shred the letter, I can't have known about it as I was off work for quite a time this year & would have made a claim if I had.
Good luck0 -

Hello - I'm not sure whether this is the correct place to post, but I have a question that I'm hoping someone will be able to help me with.
In 1998 I took out a further advance on my mortgage of £5125 (to take into account the £125 arrangement fee). I was forced to take Mortgageguard, paying £7.50 a month, for £25,641 cover, which seemed ludicrous on such a small amount of borrowing. It wasn't an option - I had to take it out to have the advance. Was that legal? Do I have any chance of reclaiming the premiums paid? Thank you. (It was with Barclays) PS When I took my original mortgage out with them, I had to have Mortgageguard then too, so I was paying 2 x premiums! I still have all of the paperwork.0 -

Hi there
I assumed this would of been optional but then in the 90's this seemed to be a common thing, although it maybe still be worth complaining about this nevertheless, see what the others have to say here too hunni and if you want to I know you are on the right thread regarding insurance etc, but you can always post on the mortgage thread on here or check it out to see if this has also happened to anyone else.
Keep a check now and again on here for more replies, in case others post up here for you.;)
