Update on my attempt to reclaim PPI from Egg...
I sent the first template letter about 4 weeks ago, and got an immeadiate reply saying the standard "we will look into it, we have up to 8 weeks etc etc".
Today I got another letter saying "It's been nearly four weeks and we have not been able to reach a conclusion yet....I can confirm our enquiries are continuing..."
Is this a good sign in that they haven't just dismissed it, or is it simply a case of they haven't had time to look into it yet?
I'm guessing it's the latter, I think I'm just clutching at straws for any kind of indication that this may be successful :rotfl:
Hi
It could be that they are stalling, or maybe they are looking into this further.
Hopefully though hun, it may be a good thing as they have kept you uptodate within 4 weeks as it seems, so fingers crossed hun X
Did they not suggest the Financial ombudsman at this stage as an option for you hun?The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I know its on my 2 cards statements but its only pittence:eek:
My sister taken a look at the figures on my credit card statements, as this was settled in 2004 and she worked out something over a £1K and without interest, and hubby's 2 together about £3.5 in PPI, how she worked them out I do not know, she done this from her home for me and lives 200 miles away, but emailed me just to give the figures, so we will wait and see.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
So basically they are saying if you cancel this but its another loan without the PPI?If your not happy with thisI would most definately take this to the FOS, because myself personally would not want another loanSo they will not be refunding you anything this way then I take it?
The letter states:
balh, blah, bla, "the call was NOT recorded and therefore cannot comment on the specifics of the conversation you had.
However, I can tell you that all our sales people work from a script, the salesperson would not have told you that taking out the PPI was essential to receive the loan"Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.
All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional0 -

So do you feel it may be best for you to take this to the FOS route?
I know personally I would not be happy with that result either....The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
