    Hi there

Sorry to hear of your issues, and hope that its all sorted out now, I agree bullying is not nice and heartbreaking to see your kiddie going through this, but Marshallka has made a good point as well on her post to me, if you read through it again, you will see what I mean.;)

Please post up with your help on PPI, I know it will be appreciated here.
I note you say you have helped out elsewhere regarding PPI and I am sure your input will be a great help here as well.

Just to squeeze this in at the same time:
I am a member of many Autism sites as well it that is an interest to you, let me know, cheers.
Good luck and hope to see you here soon.;)

We need the FSA on here to hear of our troubles.... then they might do something and give the FOS wider jurisidiction... is that how it works.... I dont know really.... just spouting about nothing again..;)
the FSA certainly put us in our place, when i complained to them i was told they are not a complaints service for consumers, then passed on to other regulators to find FOS/ FLA, to find juristiction issue's with one & the other i looks down on the FOS as a robin hood, not treating its company members fairly. so they will not help with complaints. just a rant

Yeah I see where you are coming from... its all this jurisdiction thingy... I posted about a thing called Wider Implications a day or so ago....it explained things... where as if they had lots of complaints about the same firm or issues etc then they do something... don't know what though. lol

  • Hi MSEers

I recently wrote to Nationwide to try and reclaim my PPI from a loan sold over the telephone and got the following reply...

"I refer to your recent leter regarding the PPI on your Personal Loan"

You have stated that you felt "that the salesperson was very pushy" and if this was your perception I am sorry but this certainly would not have been our intention. Although you say you felt that you could not say "no" I would have to disgree with you on this. You were sent the Loan Agreements and before returning you could have requested for the insurance to be removed and we would have happily done this. Our records show that you did not call to request this.

Your Loan Agreement refers to the Optional Credit Insurance so it is very clear that you do not have to take this cover. Furthermore it has never been our policy to infer in anyway that taking out the policy would assist your application for a loan.

Once the loan was issued you had thirty days in which to cancel the policy within the "cooling off" period at no cost to yourself. Again our records show that you did not contact us. Your right to cancel either the insurance or the loan was fully explained in the documentation you recieved.

All our representatives are fully trained and competent to discuss all aspects of the Loan and the insurance product. We carry out comprehensive training and monitoring to ensure this.

Based on the above information I'm suer you can see we have fulfilled our obligations. I have found no evidence to support your allegation and will not cancel the insurance policy from inception.

If you want to contact us blah blah

Not sure what to do now - any advice anyone have experience of dealing with Nationwide ?

    Thanks

    Hi,

This is not a final response so you now have to send them another letter reiterating your complaint. I had a very similar letter like yours from my bank although not the same bank...and won by them offering it back as a Goodwill Gesture...it did have to go to the FOS but not for adjudication so there is hope;)

You will just have to post it recorded delivery in the hope that they will reconsider this and if not then you have the option of taking the complaint to the FOS...

Don't forget to send this recorded delivery and make a note of when 8 weeks are up from your first complaint letter as if they have not sent you their FINAL by then you can go to the FOS without it.

I have done a search on this thread typing Nationwide into the "search this thread" and it comes up as the following. Perhaps another one on the success and failure thread might throw some cases won up

    Good luck

    Hi all

Haven't been on here for ages. I have just woken up as you will see from the title to this post lol.

Last letter I got was on 13th November saying the next one would be from the Case Manager. Mind you they never said what century it would be in!

Far too many posts for me to read through especially as I have joined a stop smoking forum as well!

    Hope you are all good
