  • Hi guys just wanted to give an update how I am doing

    So far......

Halifax credit card have written back saying they need more time but will respond by Feb 12th

    Halifax loans are investigating

Lloyds TSB loans - said sod off we listened to telephone call, advisor asked all questions, we can't see how you were mis-sold so sod off

Capital One card wrote they telephoned on the 5th of the month to talk to me about Payment protection yet according to my statements my account was opened on the 17th of the month and I have seen the exact same letter on here that was sent to someone else too

Monument card after sending the Subject Access Request request and wanting full details of telephone converstaion that they said they had record of, they came back with have no record of telephone conversation due to technical error and have no record of the welcome letter that was sent with card which would have had details on. Offered £378 in full and final settlement of my complaint.

So now thinking next step would be......

Monument - I have refused offer, account opened in 2004 and estimated payment break plan would be around 5-7 hundred without interest alone and they don't seem to have any documentation proving it was asked for

Capital one - disputing telephone conversation and different dates, sending Subject Access Request for proof

Lloyds TSB - sending Subject Access Request for telephone call, I don't think this happened need proof about previous loan too before top up in 2006, had life insurance and worked for local council so had enough benefits but don't think I was even asked about that at time of application.

MBNA - wrote a letter pointing out different tick want to see original application form and feel policy was mis-sold being self employed had exclusions and was different compared to employed people and was not pointed out when added to the account. gave 14 days for response because they stated final response but wanted evidence that I had wrote to company before going to FOS to investigate especially about how different tick looks

I suppose I'm keeping the local Post Office busy :D

Glad you are getting the SARs for these where they state they have listened to the phone call etc...

Thanks for the update too Toffee penny...

(if you are not sending me to coventry as well...) seems some on here have taken offence my comments..the ones that say they have benefited from my posts:rolleyes: .

Seems I am not funny enough and being serious about debts and PPI is something others on here don't seem to agree with. ;)

Marsh.. I see your predicament.. however, you still have a complaint under common law and there is a precedence which I will not discuss, however the 6 years claim times only starts once you have discovered the issue.

I am 90% confident that you have a valid complaint, and I would seriously think about legal action.

The FOS dont publish details of compaints, but the courts do and that aint good press.

Have a think about it.. I can pass you over to a lawyer that is handling my case at the moment.
    hi, incipience,
would it be possible for details of lawyer's you know or are dealing with, so that i can take that route. please

Hi and welcome, I take it you have a PPI question and would like to ask...

It is a cheery thread and no-one is on about the cheery bits if you take a look back then someone named "brock" has posted from the "outside" too and said it all. This thread is about helping people with PPI, we always answer the questions and lots of different views on here and we are no-way professionals at it. When we talk about other things posts get lost and its been more talk about anything and everything than PPI just of late. Its not the cheer we are on about. The cheer is good, its put well in the post by Brock and I myself have also been guilty of this...:o .

Some on here cannot claim through the FOS and we did at one time have quite professional people on here (not for own personal gain I must add) that helped in these cases but since the thread has changed the last few months we have had none. Its always been cheery and no-one ever complained about this in the times when I first joined and we all learnt certain aspects of the laws in making these complaints and claims. Lots went through the courts on their own and won.

If its me you are on about here then I am sorry that you feel that the "cheer" has gone from the thread but there are other reasons why people come on too. ;)

You could also say that when "newbies" come on too they are put off by the lack of real talk on PPI.... it can work both way... its getting the balance right that all.

Hope you add to the thread and post up your PPI query as this may help others too. Thats what its about, helping other with their PPI complaints....

    Hello

No I do not have a PPI question, I was going to offer my help, due to having dealt with these issue on other popular reclaiming websites.

Thank you anyway, and I can see its pretty quiet here so far, I hope its picks up for you.

May I just say, and I am not getting at you, I have an autistic daughter, she again was a victim of bullying, unfortunately and sadly this is an issue when it comes to these victims with special requirements, I am happy to hear your kids stick up for themselves and I am sure you meant well on your postings about this and bullies, but some with these needs are unable to protect themselves unlike a person without these disabilities, its torture for that person and also for the families having to deal with this as a matter of priority, its a very sad issue indeed.

Anyhow back to the PPI, I hope this thread picks back up for you again.

I, for one, am extremely grateful to you, keep it up, and the fact that you are so serious about the subject has made me chuckle (dont take that the wrong way please) thanks again.
Thankyou Sir Alex for 26 years

just updating you all on my progress with blackhorse,
had documents back off request from SAR. only to find its all about my existing loan, brickwall again. informed ICO of this waiting for response. had enough now FLA are total waste of time.
i believe a lawyer is the only option, to stop them messing me around.
also anyone dealing with blackhorse or thinking of, save yourselves a lot of grief & time by using a laywer.

    Hi

    A newbie here.
I have been following this forum for a while now, decided to finally register, feel its time just for me to have my say, hope you don't mind.

Some hurtful posts here, it was a cheery thread which gave that welcoming feel, many times I have attempted posting, yes its a busy thread and plenty of chatter, in a way this can help a newbie feel more relaxed.
This is just my version and I know you all have yours, fair enough, its a ppi thread and its where help is needed, but reading some posts is also off putting for newbies rather vindictive as well.

Some posts have gone a bit too far and rather personal in an open forum, if that person is being asked questions then its going to be harped on if asked, yes who hasn't got problems ? Its quite nit picking, and just not a thing newbies want to see. Maybe scaring people away as well.

I am sorry but had to have my say.

    Bring back that cheer guys.

Hi Thank you for posting your view on here. It is good to get a point of view from others. I am sure we will all take your points on board.

Are you claiming back PPI, or just follow this thread?
