Dell Dimension 2400 PC for £163-33

How amateur are dell becoming? I telephoned three times to their customer 'care' line and after endless, if you require **** press 1 etc only to be told the deparment is closed. I emailed them querying my order just to get a reply stating dells accepted payments. This is NOT a way to run a company, especially one the size of dell, it seems impossible to get through to them and i can envisage a student sat at the other end of my email with an english to indian translation book and a list of automated responses to email back. It is not a very nice thing to say but if this is the future for dell then i hope this decision of sending call centres abroad loses them sales and profits. If this order comes through or not, i doubt i will ever use them again.

I see DELL have added a new get-out clause on all pages:Prices and specifications are correct at date of publication but subject to availability or change without notice. Dell cannot be responsible for errors in typography or photography. Promotional Offers apply to maximum order size of 5 systems. Dell's Terms and Conditions of Sales and Service apply and are available on request. How do I add a signature?0

I got some Dell 2400s for the office. I completely scrubbed the hard disks and reinstalled Windows from scratch. If you look on Dell-related NGs, this is the preferred route, apparently. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Dell machines come with up to 5Gb of crap and it's a good to get rid of it and regain some disk space by reformatting and reinstalling Windows. Note however that there is a 30Mb service partition in FAT which you shouldn't delete.0

That's funny, i've had to uninstall McAfee anti-virus and other products countless times and can't remember it being that bad at all. Certainly not as messy as a dog with diahorrea anyway.0 -

Its nice to know dell are being selective on whose orders they honour, I dont know how this company get away with their lax business procedures. I suppose i should look on the bright side, i would sooner be without a dell computer than own a dell computer with a technical problem, now if you have to call India for that, then that WOULD be a nightmare. Thankyou to everyone who has helped me on this topic and goodluck to all who have ordered these items and received the elusive PDF files.
