Dell Dimension 2400 PC for £163-33
Comments
-
The OP related to system without monitor for £163.33 (original one was in Medium/Large Business section. the same is now available in Small Business)
Somewhere down P1 I added details of the circa £175.00 one (with £70.00 off for changing the upgrade to 19" monitor back to a 17" one)
Not looking to steal any thunder from the OP as this is still a good bargain - just didn't want people thinking they'd got less of a deal than they first thought.
Do you have a link to this?

Just had my acknowledgement of internet order, and noticed that DELL have changed the document and included a new get-out clause against future pricing errorsWe have received your order.
We will send you a written Order Confirmation to confirm acceptance of your order or will contact you if there is a problem with your order. The Order Confirmation will contain your Order Number and the final purchase amount pending any charges resulting from the verification of the online pricing of your order. Please note that Dell will not be responsible for typographical, pricing or other errors and reserves the right to cancel any orders based on such errors
Shouldn't affect these systems though, as it does not appear to be a pricing error - I think they're just clearing slow moving stock. Still a good price for a basic machine. How do I add a signature?0 -
I honestly don't think that's changing much ... they always said that there wasn't a contract until they issued the PDF confirmation, which is after they've checked the details shown in your original e-mail confirmation. So that appears unchanged to me.0

Save a magnificent £8-17 on the original £163-33 for a price of £155-16 using the code ?7NWS3?Q45F?M0.
This code gets 5% off selected Dimension desktops, and presumably can also be used against the similar deals people have discussed in this topic.0 -
Im looking at getting one of these cheap dell machines, can anybody tell me if i can put my graphics card and Cd writer in to this machine and also the extra memory that I have in my current machine. Realy needs upgrading as its a P3 700mhz and it seems easier to buy a new one than sort the mess that is my current machine out!
Any help greatly appreciated!0 -
and don't forget rpoints et al for 1.5% cashback

Graphics - only if it is PCI (the DELL 2400 does not have an AGP slot)
CD Writer - Yes
Memory - Unlikely. IIRC the DELL uses PC2700, 333MHz, 184pin DDR memory modulesHow do I add a signature?0 -
Thanks SantaClause.
Im not sure how to check what the graphics card is but ill unscrew the thing and have a look0 -
Don't see why you can't swop the 256 2700 stick of memory and get a 512mb 2700 stick or 1gb 2700 stick, or if you have a free slot just get a 512mb stick.
Anyway, the computer isn't that much of a bargain, it has a Celeron (bit rubbish)
No independent graphics/video card or sound card, no monitor, no speakers, if you add the costs of them it ain't much of a bargain, unless you have spare parts.
decent graphics card £100
sound card £60
speakers £70
monitor £170
dvd-rw/cd-rw £70
probably best to buy one with better spec. or you will be replacing parts you've paid for.0
