Ive got speakers, a decent enough graphics and sound card and a monitor that works fine. I was hoping that I could just put these bits in t this machine.
Im not too technical and it all seemed so easy to buy this machine at a price I can afford and just put my "better bits" in to it.
I only rely need the machine for internet, email, word processing and playing Football Manager 2005. I presume that buying this machine and adding my bits in to it will surfice ?0 -

It's probably unlikely that your current machine's graphics card will fit in the Dell. Unless you have your current graphics card sitting in a PCI slot you will have to buy a new one.You don't get medals for sitting in the trenches.0 -
yeh because you have al the part already lionelflare, it will be perfect0

What graphics does Football Manager need? The onboard sound on the Dell is fine for general use, but the onboard graphics are not much good for games. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I'm don't think Football Manager is as resource hungry as Championship Manager so you might be ok, for any other games get a seperate graphics card.0

I dont think FM 2005 is heavy on the graphics but putting my old card in should help. ( if it fits )
Thanks for all the help!0 -
what card is your old one?0

Not sure, its about 200 miles away at my mum and dads house at the moment! waiting for them to bring my old machine down at christmas so I can take it to pieces. I seem to remember the name Geforce but thats about it im afraid!0

Nvidia Geforce's are good cards, I have one :) If it's under three years old you'll be fine, any older than that you might be pushing it0

Anyway, the computer isn't that much of a bargain, it has a Celeron (bit rubbish)
An equivalent any where else to this PC is roughly about £400+ including monitor and delivery. Ebuyer have slightly lower specced PC's to this at £350 excluding monitor and delivery, which would tend to make it a bargain.
So bearing in mind it's roughly about half it's normal price, that leaves quite a lot of spare cash for upgrades, if a higher spec PC is required.
I take it you missed out on one then?0
