Eh, she did not buy the coat, nor does she want the coat, she wanted the cash the coat was worth. Hence she has not been back. So how is buying the coat and a reciept, going to help OP?

Another load of horse droppings I thinks. DAVE, come back lad and do your magic!

Why horse-droppings, the post by DCFC79 would work for anyone wanting an exchange where they don't have a receipt (except in a store where the size of the item shows on the new receipt - but that's not an issue in Tesco).

She did buy the coat didn't she, as per the OP?

And I have already suggested the same solution as DCFC79 posted (it's on page one and the OP replied that it was a good idea). It does assume, however, that she does still want the coat (but in the right size instead).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi all

I bought a coat from Tesco for £40 along with my regular shopping, I went home tried it on (it was supposed to be my size) but it was massive
    (about two sizes too big)

i looked for my reciept to no avail:mad: i always keep my reciepts,so not sure if i left it on the cash register or something.

i called TESCO customer services and was told, if i used my advantage card or paid by card it would be OK to return the coat since all the price tags/codes etc have not been removed.

i travelled back to TESCO and was told they do not do the club point card way anymore, so i can use my bank statement only if the coat was the only purchase i made,i explained to them i spent about £200 that day including the coat.

they have now told me there is nothing they can do for me although i was wrongly advised on the phone, all the tags/labels are still intact, it is still in the cherokee bag still brand new etc, just no reciept.

does anyone know if there is any way around this, i dont want the coat-it is far too big.

    any helpful advice is welcomed

    thank you very much

They can check your purchase by doing a computer check for the sale, do you know the day & time you made the purchase? If you have a rough idea of these details a check can be made in the back office!

I think its wrong to assume the OP is a theif or has stolen the coat, without having proof of such outrageous claims, you should never automatically assume something is stolen, because they have no receipts. I don't have any receipts for my clothes in my wardrobe, I can assure you all paid for.

The OP has posted on here seeking advice, users are reminded to reply offering advice and not accusations.

Well said, and in the case of Mr Snowbits - to quote a phrase from another well-known poster - pot, kettle, black.

i think this forum is so funny :rotfl: people accuse you of the most ridiculous stuff!!!:rotfl:

i'm really going to scam TESCO over £40:rolleyes:  :rotfl:

    anyway,

for those that are interested and not here for sarcasm....

good news i spoke to the manager of the store who was able to check the computer (as i knew the date i bought the jacket)

i was given the option to exchange or refund, i exchanged the coat for a smaller size.

the manager gave my babies 2 small winnie the pooh teddy bears, she was very sweet :T she explained that the woman at the customer services till was a little "harsh" at times.

THANKS TO THE GENUINE POSTERS!!! :p

My post suggests she wanted the cash! It is a well known trick by some con merchants, how easy it was to loose the recipet. 'Go and check on your computer.':rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: 'I want my cash back.':rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

But if the thief had not paid for it in the first place, then they are not going to buy a coat just to get one that fits.

I will await correction by the OP.

Why should they check, it is company confidential information. Do you want to know what is on my computer? If so, go and get a court order and pay for it. In a sense, 'Put up or shut up.'

fREDDIE SNOWBITS, REALLY WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?
YOU SEEM ANGRY AND FULL OF HURT. WHY WOULD I STEAL A COAT???
WHY WOULD I STEAL ANYTHING? :lachen:
  • well thats great then,so you got there in the end! i conclude- result!
