Mags, what a pity you cannot make it this time, but please make sure to pm me when you know that you are going to be in London - it does not take much to rustle up a quick meet-up with the SE London OSers, so there is no reason why we shouldn't call a spontaneous one when you are around, in your honour!

I know what you mean about the difficult of trying to spread the OS word to people, I have just come to the conclusion that if someone is determined to waste their money and resources in gadgets and overpriced stuff, there is little you can do about it, just pity them!

Now I lead by "silent example", no longer boasting about my OS finds and skills - but you know what, our (OSers) time has come, look at how everybody these days has jumped on the "vintage", crafts and home-cooking bandwagon...:T talk about teaching granny to suck eggs :rotfl:

One of the main reasons (and pleasures) of these meets is just what you said, to meet like-minded people. Nobody bats an eyelid to hear about someone's "extreme saving manouvres" - if anything, this sort of thing is received with awe and admiration and we all love to share how we have been doing in our money-saving lives! I hope you can make it one day and look forward to meeting you and I am sure I am speaking also for all the other OSers that attend our meets.
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

Thank you for your good wishes beachbaby, and as said before, please make sure to let me know if you are going to be around London at any time. Then, if possible, I shall try to rustle up a meet so you can meet a few London OSers. The sooner you let me know the better so I can alert as many as possible!

  • Thanks, Caterina. I would just need to find a good reason to come down to London then!
