I confirm that it was great fun, sorry I did not make it all the way to Borough Market, but at least I successfully managed to get the Eurostar tickets printed for me and DD to go to Paris in a couple of weeks time!

Please let's have more meets, I really love spending time (and a bit of money too!) with a bunch of totally like-minded people like you guys. Let's hope that other OSers are also encouraged to come along!

Thanks agan to IOIWE for organising it!

    Love to all xxx

I'm sitting here scoffing the cherries bought at Borough Market, they are yum. The Turkish Delight got pounced on by the BF as soon as he saw it - I can confirm it is/was lush!

The smelly, but V yummy cheese is not being shared hee hee!

A great day out and a delicious lunch too, roll on the next one :D

I made the mistake of going to Westfield afterwards and I hated it, I much preferred Borough Market and will be going back soon :o

Had a fab time, even if I did have to be man handled away from the book sellers :o:rotfl:

Choccie all eaten by 7pm, hubby did help:D

Purpleclutterbuck, just a thought but would it be easier for you if we had a meet up down near you (or your chicken coup:D)?

off to catch up and waffle now on other threads.

    Hi all

Working from home today so free to muck about on my fav forum!

Icey: I love Borough Market, please let me know when you plan to visit again as I am always after an excuse to go!

Purpleclutterbuck: I would love to see the chickens, too!

Love to all and see you all soon!

  • Afternoon All!
Just got back from the doctors - had to give a few blood samplesfree-evil-grin-smileys-754.gif
the nurse was very quick - just got to wait for the results - something to do with electrolytes and sodium levels ?????
Thankyou ladies for a lovely time on Saturday - my little legs were fair plum tuckered out and many, many thanks for being so patient with the walking speed of "speedy gonzales" (me) - next time I will bring my roller skates!
I loved going round Borough market - didn't expect it to be sooo busy though - but I'd love to go again asap as Hubby just loved the smelly cheese (good job the train was air conditioned on the way back -kept the ripe stilton smell at bay:rotfl:)
I'm savouring the choccies - one piece a day - :A or maybe two!
I'm quite happy to travel up to the big city to see you lovely ladies but when my itsybitsy orangery ( lean-to !!!) is complete then I shall invite you over for Pimms/tea/wine/coffee etc etc and you can see "my wee gals" at the bothy(my tiny house is like a DIY building site at the mo! you would need to wear fluorescent jackets and steel cap boots -very fetching!!!!)
I am trying to think of anywhere round here to go but I'm not coming up with any ideas - a lady on the train suggested a market(?) near Peter Jones in Sloane square -I'll polish the wellies just in case!
I just like sitting and nattering with you lovely ladies as you make me laugh so much :D I quite fancy afternoon tea somewhere/anywhere (The Ritz is not really OS...........)
May you fill up the great clutterbucket of life and may all of your leaks be in cheese sauce:D
Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without:cool:

Ah, the Ritz might not be quite OS but there are ways...have you ever checked the website: www.afternoontea.co.uk/ for offers? You might be pleasantly surprised! It is worth signing on to the newsletter as they send you offer details by email.

If we are after a very very reasonable afternoon tea (but not advisable on Saturday as the venue is very small and gets very busy) and you are prepared to travel to Greenwich, there is a cafe on Royal Hill, SE10, called Royal Teas, which does full afternoon teas for £7, including smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich, ginormous piece of homemade cake, scone with clotted cream and jam and a pot of really good quality tea or coffee. BARGAIN!!!

Else, John Lewis cafe in Oxford Street also does cream teas for around £8 or 9, or at the more basic end of the scale, anywhere where they have a cafe, M&S do them for around £5. Check this out:

    http://www.londonnet.co.uk/food/news/afternoon-tea-for-a-tenner-at-john-lewis-oxford-street

I no longer eat dairy (worse luck) so cream is off limits, but a sandwich without butter or cheese and a scone without cream is acceptable, so I would be up for it!

Who is going to organise the next one then?

    Love to all xxx
