If you're driving, parking, paying the toll, the train can work out cheaper. And that's before you factor in the cost of actually running the car (brings you closer to the next service, cost of tyres, etc)

Last time I went I think a return was about £14 to Temple Meads, depends where you're starting from though obviously ... if you're not near a train station it can be a long-winded expensive pain.
Cost wise it's probably about the same (without the hassle), it depends on parking in Bristol though.

I resent paying the toll sooooo much! It's gone up to £5.40 now too. I always ask for a receipt so I feel as though I've "got" something for it.

I know I will drive so if someone can post nearest free parking ( ) when place known that would be great.

Feb. 28th is okay for me at the moment.

    Hi all

I am not very well (frozen shoulder, taking a while to clear) so I won't organise anything for February - but I shall be joining the Bristol lot on 28th Feb. (see separate thread).

Hope to catch up with the London OSers in March!

EDITED to correct my error sorry!

OK, looks like Saturday 28th is a goer - I suggest 2pm at the Watershed, upstairs. There's a bit on the right just before you get to the main bar area, and this bit tends to be quieter and less crowded.

Will PM everyone as well. Looking forward to meeting you all! We can maybe swap descriptions etc a bit nearer the time.

I've never been to the Watershed, is there any parking somewhere nearby? I don't suppose there are any streets with free parking?! If I have to pay for parking what sort of change will I need?

I'm looking forward to meeting people who enjoy cooking as I enjoy eating (but not cooking) and anyway you need a balance of people! :D

Just tried to PM you, Fran, but your inbox is full.

There is free parking around but not a great deal, especially on Saturdays - will have a think and see what I can suggest.
