Oh countdown to Saturday. So far only Toonie and me. Are any other OSers going to surprise us on the day or is anyone else interested in coming along with us?
I have also another plan for the future in case anyone is interested. I would like to visit the Geffrye Museum http://www.geffrye-museum.org.uk/ to see the exhibition "Choosing the Chintz" about home furnishings. Does anyone want to join me? I was thinking of going in the next few weeks, as it closes on 22nd February. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Caterina, I'm in London next weekend hopefully, 24/25th, I'd love to visit it! Or even just meet up for a coffee if you're arranging another meet!
Right, off to sort out veggies for dinner, pm me if you'll be free then.GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Mummysaver, it would be so great to meet up! I have pmd you re going to the museum, but if anyone else is also interested please post here or pm me, or if there is a consensus on that weekend we could all go to the Blackheath Age Exchange (and drive the old biddies mad :rotfl: ).
I am open to suggestions, OSers, let me know and I am happy to co-ordinate another meet. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
I don't know untill Friday if I can make it on Saturday, but will if I can.
I'll give you a ring if I am able to make it.
Its avoiding shopping in the Walthamstow market that makes this venue hard for me.
Once I see the stalls no-one will see me!
I am going to Lewisham on Friday Caterina if you fancy a coffee there??

Ah LilacLillie, I wish I had been online yesterday and saw your kind invite, I would have loved to catch up! Never mind - hope to see you tomorrow, what's the problem with Walthamstow market? I did not understand!
We are not going in the market, we are meeting at the Hornbeam centre!
Give me a ring or just turn up, I shall be there from one-ish.
The more the merrier!
Edited to say: while browsing around the Hornbeam Centre website I spotted another very interesting place, the Vestry House Museum: http://www.walthamforest.gov.uk/index/leisure/museums-galleries/vestry-house-museum.htmFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

The meet up has just begun ................. hopefully.
I couldn't make it today, plumbing problem, need hot water fixed today if possible.
Its surprising how much we depend on it.

Thank you to Toonie and ME for joining me, it was a really pleasant afternoon, with fav (incredibly reasonably priced) food, in an interesting community space, with an outside local organic veg stall (what's not to like?!?). I hope to get back there again.
Meanwhile, next Saturday 24th Jan. mummysaver and I have a (so far) loose arrangement to meet and go to the Geffrye Museum to see the Choosing The Chintz exhibition. It would be great if more OSers want to join us. I shall post more details once I have made more finalised arrangements with mummysaver. Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -
Sorry I couldn't make it this time, Caterina. I was a little tired on account of having been up super-early to queue for cheap tickets for Turandot at the Royal Opera House.
VINCERO.... VINCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO....
('twas fab)
