What do you define as a negligible correction? My near site prescription is +2.25 and +2.50 for right and left eyes respectively (including a +0.75 distance correction for both), would they fall within your definition? My new spectacles don't have an AR coating and when I first got them I thought they were dirty but in fact it seems to be reflections from light behind me. Is this what the AR coating eliminates?
Thanks
Exactly right... reflections from lights behind you are often the biggest problem, hence why an AR coating is applied to both sides of the lens.
When I say neglible, at a VDU anything from -1.00 to +1.00 probably, though this does of course depend on the user.0 -
If anyone is in County Durham I suggest going to Willington the shop (sorry can't remember name) is in the main street they dont do eye tests but they are cheap as fried potato batons.
Last year my mam got Armani framless varifocals for around £100 she has a problem with getting specs to sit right and she went back several times and they couldnt have been more helpful.
Non designer specs are around £300 -

Hi, I've just been to the opticians as was having trouble with my vision and have been told that I need to get new glasses (about 9 months after my last prescription)!
9 months or so ago I got 2 new pairs of glasses which cost me quite a lot (it was my splurge as I wear them all the time!) so now as you would imagine I'm pretty disappointed that I will have to get new ones!
I know that Vision Express will replace the lenses with the new prescription but they have quoted about £120 for my rimless glasses and £70 for the regular ones. Does anyone know any other places which will replace the lenses in your glasses for less than this?
Thanks,
Amy0 -
Very happy with replacement lenses from www.ciliaryblue.com. You order online and by return you will receive a pre-paid box to send your specs along with copy of your prescription. Any queries they will contact you or vice-versa and you will receive your specs back within 5 days. They pricing is very clear on the website. I cannot sing their praises enough.SallyD0

I have just received my third pair of glasses from goggles4u this time just had a pair of reading sunglasses with 80% tint, had a prescription with Specsavers which I then filled in on the internet and the glasses were delivered in just over three weeks, all for £11.40p.
Absolutely perfect, just cannot believe the price and quality, I would certainly recommend them ?0 -
