You don't need any tint for VDU - just adjust the display brightness and contrast to suit! An anti-reflection coating can help - but make sure you keep them spotlessly clean.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

Hi All,
Ive previously ordered twice from glasssesdirect and had no probs.
I was just wondering if anyone knows of any sites who accept NHS vouchers?
Ive never used on on the sites before and no-one really seems to have much info on how you actually use the voucher online....0 -

I think budgetspex.com accept them.
If they do and you are thinking about buying there I ordered a pair online last Sunday, my spectacles arrived on the following Thursday. I ordered a cheapo pair for £8.99 (£11,49 inc postage) and have to say they exceeded my expections. They came with a nice little case are quite sturdy and not bad looking into the bargain.{Signature removed by Forum Team - if you are not sure why we have removed your signature please contact the Forum Team}

I want to update you all ........ I would certainly recommend www.Ciliaryblue.com if you want a re-glaze. After placing the order on the internet I received a pre-paid box by return to send my specs and copy prescription. I received a phone call as there was a hiccup with my frame which was sorted out immediately and the whole process was just a week. I am now wearing lenses I can see through! Customer service was exceptionally efficient and speedy.SallyD0

I am with Meanmommna. I shall certainly be looking around for more frames and getting them glazed at Ciliaryblue - they are in the UK too.SallyD0

Ive had a complete farce of an order with http://www.wantglasses.co.uk
I rang to check about the NHS vouchers and how I could process the order with one.
I was told to put the order in online, and that although the card details would be taken I wouldnt be charged if I emailed customer services and told them about my voucher. I was assured twice during this conversation that no charges would be made against this account until the voucher had been processed.
I did so, immediatly sent the email through to them and told them my order details.
A couple of hours later, I recieved one back:
Hi Emma,
Thanks for the email. I have noted this on the system and will wait for your form to come through. We will go ahead with your order in the meantime. I have told accounts not to process your payment however they informed the payment went through... so i have refunded this immediately to your card. Sorry about that!
Hope this ok. Please call or email if you have any more queries.
Warm regards,
All well and good, but now I have gone overdrawn, the little bit of money in my account that was supposed to be paying for my little boys nursery session this afternoon has been swallowed up and Im now being chaqrged for it!
All because someone from the technical department cant be bothered to add an extra option on the payments page!
After speaking to customer services Ive now got to go and request a bank statement from my bank, (and pay for it!!) go and post it through to them and have to wait for t to come into my account. This Im told could take up to 10 working days!!!!!
Im disgusted! I rang and checked this information before putting an order in in good faith.
Now Im stuck at home with no money and a little boy who's very upset that he cant go to nursery this afternoon.
Not impressed at all!!!!!!
Not really a good impression to give a new customer is it?
The worst thing is that they have my contact details yet didnt even have the decency to ring and explain the situation themselves. Just sent a fairly flippant email!!!!!!!!!!0 -

Lots of opticians will try and sell you specs for VDU with an anti-reflection (AR) coating claiming it reduces glare. This is only the case if you ACTUALLY need correction for VDU work. If not then don't ever buy specs with a negligible correction and an AR coating to reduce glare. They reduce the reflections from the lenses only, not the screen... so wearing no specs will result in less reflections than wearing AR coated specs.0
