Another negative poster ,does he/she really have an ICESAVE account

Not negative, just realistic. And yes, I do have accounts with Icesave so I'm in the same boat as everyone else here. And just for the record I'm female :)

We care because most Icesave investors are not reading the threads in this forum and also not everybody will be able to get hold of their money at the same time as the process is being staggered over several weeks.

The second notification emails are the process by why the start of the staggered repayment period for any individual account holder is being managed and controlled. If that fails to get there then the process fails. This matters because of the non payment of interest after Oct 7th and the large sums involved and therefore the significant amounts of interest (in to the hundreds of pounds in some cases) that anyone not getting the email on time stands to lose. This would be much less of a problem if interest was still being paid by FSCS on the Instant Access accounts up to the date on which the money is withdrawn.

Oh for gods sake can't you give it a rest?

All those that were unfortunate to have had their emails caught by a spam filter, less than 40% when I last looked, will presumably have taken whatever steps necessary to ensure the email is now marked as "non-spam/junk" therefore will receive the next one without a problem.

Don't you think the FSCS may already have anticipated this problem, hence sending out two emails before any action regarding accessing accounts need be taken? ;)

And we all know just how reliable hearfrom's process for sending out vital emails is.

Yup. As of writing, an unofficial poll of self selected subjects, over 60% of people replying claim they got the email in their inbox.

(Conversely, under 40% of the same self-selected respondants claim it hit their spam folder.)

It's clearly not perfect, but a far cry from the '100% totally unreliable' claim you're trying to push.

I'd be interested to find out out of those 'victims' how many of them find other non-spam (false positives) in their spam boxes.

  • "claim" being the operative word.

Well despite my best intentions not to get involved in a game of "me too" over the 2nd e-mail, I have to advise you that I have received it. It's a hard fact, not a claim or fantasy.

No only the tiny percentage of Icesave investors who did not get their emails but also read this forum will be aware of the junk email issue. The rest just won't have heard anything. And why do you seem incapable of making any point without regarding to barrow boy type language? Dipstick is normally taken as a strongly abusive term by most people.
Don't you think the FSCS may already have anticipated this problem, hence sending out two emails before any action regarding accessing accounts need be taken? ;)

No the purposes of the first email was just to try to shut people up while they were still kept waiting and to deliver the bad news about no interest after October 7th plus also to deal with cases of people who had moved or lost their Icesave passwords and/or usernames. Its purpose was also to alert people who might say perhaps be away on holiday in a place where there is no easy web cafe internet access etc (the USA for instance which has almost no public web cafes) when the second email arrives.

I appreciate that some of you corporate ladder climber types have some unstoppable need to always support the establishment on everything (not least because you often seem to lack the ability to think laterally) but the fact of the matter is that the establishment (FSCS) has badly screwed up here but you company loyalist types just won't accept it.

Are you sure it isn't just a second copy of the first email and are you now able to "Claim" and move your Icesave money to another bank account?

:rotfl: You really are a barrel of laughs aren't you, and so presumptious too! By the way, what is "barrow boy language"? Not a term I've ever met before. I called you a dipstick simply because you appear to be acting as one, and I certainly wouldn't describe it as a strongly abusive term!

I seriously think you need to lighten up a bit and "take a chill pill" (is that barrow boy language? ;) )

I was one of those who said my Outlook spam filter caight the FSCS email. It has also caught other "non-spam" emails so yes it's not 100% reliable. I still know to look in my Junk folder and would not rely on it.

I'm just checking around to make sure I'm not being had before I login and get my money. It's definitely not the same e-mail, entirely different content and it near the start it invites me to login and complete the deal.
