You'll soon know if clicking on the Claim option gets you anywhere. If it isn't legitimate clicking claim will simply get a message saying wait until you get the 2nd email.0 -

Well, either a (insert your chosen nationality here) gangster is rubbing his hands with glee or my claim is being processed. Think I'll have a large drink just in case it's the former.0 -
Congratulations to you
Did the email say anything useful other than "claim now" (e.g. provide clarification on some of the questioned/ambiguous previous points from the first email & faqs?0 -

It's on my desktop (which I don't have access to just now) and I'm on my laptop but nothing of use really. I think it went over the FAQs and the bit about Fixed Rate Accs.0 -

I appreciate that some of you corporate ladder climber types have some unstoppable need to always support the establishment on everything (not least because you often seem to lack the ability to think laterally) but the fact of the matter is that the establishment (FSCS) has badly screwed up here but you company loyalist types just won't accept it.

Congratulations, Guesthouse, on getting access to your funds so promptly.
Just as a matter of interest, when did you receive your first email, what's the first letter of your surname and when did you open your icesave account?
Apparently batches are to be sent randomly, but I can't quite believe that, and I find, personally, idle speculation amuses me and helps pass the time while I await further instructions.0 -

They usually come from Essex and once used to run market stalls but now usually operate as traders and dealers in the City of London. Odd therefore that you do not seem to have heard of them. They usually don't favour the use of the Queens English either. Something you seem to have in common with them by referring to a person's character in relation to a metal rod that measures a car oil level. We all know that when used in this way that calling someone a dipstick is an abusive term and is usually said by someone with a certain accent.
[quoteI seriously think you need to lighten up a bit and "take a chill pill" (is that barrow boy language?)
No that is Jonathan Ross type language..0 -

Why on earth would it be odd that I've never heard of them? They usually don't favour the use of the Queens English either. Because you live in Essex.:rolleyes:And what accent might that be? I wasn't aware you'd ever heard me speak to know what accent I have anyway
People who call other people "dipsticks" are probably also regularly heard to call other people "muppets" and to say "alright mate" at regular intervals I would imagine.0 -

The rest just won't have heard anything. And why do you seem incapable of making any point without regarding to barrow boy type language? Dipstick is normally taken as a strongly abusive term by most people.
No the purposes of the first email was just to try to shut people up while they were still kept waiting and to deliver the bad news about no interest after October 7th plus also to deal with cases of people who had moved or lost their Icesave passwords and/or usernames. Its purpose was also to alert people who might say perhaps be away on holiday in a place where there is no easy web cafe internet access etc (the USA for instance which has almost no public web cafes) when the second email arrives.

Why are they ganging up on you ,a small group ,who probably are bank employees. The point you make is good, the staggered system costs us all money in lost interest,it is a lottery ,put in place to prevent the site crashing. Each day we lose money ,and the FSCS hold the reins , they make the rules up as they go along and we should be grateful. To be happy you need to make someone happy.0
