Do they wear caps in Oxfordshire, I know Essex girls do.

Does this information actually help anyone? Try to stick to the topic in future.

Thanks for that. Just went to Nat West today with new transfer form in order to get the 2% bonus by applying before the 9th and I was turned away, being told the transfer will be rejected again . Has anyone else been told that they will not qualify for the 2% bonus also?

I've just been into Natwest... after struggling for a while with someone who didn't seem to be aware of any banks collapsing (I had to repeat "Icesave" three times for her), she called someone else over. They'd already had the same inquiry from someone else and checked with HQ, who told her that our transfers will not be elligible for the bonus because of the way its transfered in.

    Anybody had a different experience?

    Hello

this is really bad news, I am in the same position: my Icesave ISA failed to transfer into newly opened Natwest ISA early October, am now waiting for my money so I can complete the process "manually". I will speak to the bank manager at my branch on Wednesday and will definitely post his reply here.

When I applied for the transfer from my icesave ISA to Natwest under the bonus ISA scheme ,an ISA account with nil balance was set-up . Then ICESAVE went into default.

I have received one letter from Natwest ,about 10 days ago ,stating that the bank had gone into default and giving contact details for the FSCS and one sentence at the end telling me that they would offer a competitive ISA RATE.
Which meant that the bonus scheme had gone ,but they did not say it.

I have lodged a complaint with NATWEST about the unhelpful letter and the situation, and the delay and lack of communication. I suggest other do the same.
I will escalate this to the regulator,I believe that I had a contract with them for the transfer, they are in breach, this is a unique situation and we should test them against natural justice . Lodge your complaints.

  • We care because most Icesave investors are not reading the threads in this forum and also not everybody will be able to get hold of their money at the same time as the process is being staggered over several weeks.

The second notification emails are the process by why the start of the staggered repayment period for any individual account holder is being managed and controlled. If that fails to get there then the process fails. This matters because of the non payment of interest after Oct 7th and the large sums involved and therefore the significant amounts of interest (in to the hundreds of pounds in some cases) that anyone not getting the email on time stands to lose. This would be much less of a problem if interest was still being paid by FSCS on the Instant Access accounts up to the date on which the money is withdrawn.

I am waiting for money from Icesave and also went through the KE/ING fiasco to get money back but in my opinion, anyone that is stressing about significant amounts of interest, probably had significant amounts of money over the published limit in their accounts and should be grateful they are getting their entire deposit back. Just my opinion, but anyone who had more than 50k in their account and is getting tectchy about loss of interest due to the FSCS taking their time over paying out should take a deep breath and consider the alternative......

Hmm that sounds like very bad news.. Although technically they are still transfers... :( Where is the next best place where we can move our Icesave ISAs?

It is doubtful that any bank will accept it into another ISA until we get a piece of paper from the FSCS certifying that the cash has tax free status. Its hardly worth while looking at the moment.

That will be the next thread I presume Who will be the first to receive a certificate :D

Yeh, its a good point I am just going to wait I think. I dont see how any bank can refuse a transfer for the sake of it with a certificate although I am sure they can refuse for any reason, but we shall see.
