I feel very embarrased but I have been duped by a company offering a free trial of Acai Berry diet pills. So far I have paid $87.13 which works out at £54.48 on my Halifax credit card. I've cancelled the card, but apparantly they can still take money out. Ive phoned Diet Max on 01617680100 to cancel the order and filled out an online cancellation form but not had a confirmation email. Does anyone have an email or postal address for this company? How long could this go on for. So far I've only had one payment go out. I'm worried to death over this.
thanks for your help
The company is XM Brands in Florida, USA.

"As of August 4, 2010, all mail has been returned by the post office as unable to deliver for this company and its various business names and addresses.
The Better Business Bureau is unable to process complaints and suggest if you paid by credit card, to contact your card company to dispute charges."
You should also fill in this online complaint form from the Florida Attorney General as they are currently investigating the company. At least that way your name will be on the list of complainants if they force the company to refund people as the Florida Attorney General has done in the past with another Acai company.

Is there anywhere I can complain about this? is there anything to do?
You can fill in this online complaint form from the Florida Attorney General as well as this one from the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
(See post above)

I too have been conned by these fraudsters to the tune of £56.71, I have just contacted my bank, Lloyds TSB who have told me to phone back a disputes department on Monday morning and that they will deal with the matter.
I tried emailing these scammers but it was just returned as being a non-existent e-mail address.
It appeared as a free trial with £1.95 postage cost's but nothing was said about taking more money out of my account on a monthly basis.
The postal address on the package is:
Order Processing Centre
47 West Polk St Ste 100-248
CHICAGO IL 60605 - 2085.
Luckily I have not tried the diet tablets, Who knows what poison could be in them?0 -
I found out yesterday that my mother had signed up for one of these trials recently. She placed her order on 19 November, and so was still within the 10 day cancellation period. I couldn't get through to the company on the phone number on her invoice, but I finally managed to find an email address to write to so that my mother could cancel her contract. She had a response within a couple of hours giving her a ticket no., but has heard no more. We spoke to her credit card issuer, and fortunately she has only been charged the $2.95 postage. When I explained that she had been scammed, and that she had cancelled the contract within the agreed time limit, the credit card company cancelled her card, and will issue her with a new one.
If the scammers don't take any action on the email they were sent cancelling the contract, now that my mother's credit card has been cancelled, is there any way that they will be able to make any further charge? Is there any way that if a new debit is received by the credit card company, it could be forwarded to my mother's new card?0 -
I was also caught out by this fraud,I sent for free trial but ended up with £500 being taken from my account. Every month they would send me another supply and I would send them straight back, finally I told my bank and they investigated the company and got my money back. However a word of warning, I have just ordered some vitamins from Amazon,cost£5, but have just found out that£150 has gone from my account to a company called Naturelife, looked them up to find it is old company using new name,my bank are yet again onto their trail and getting my money back(i hope)0

I too saw the terms and conditions too late. I emailed them to stop the order right away, but I received the pills two days later. there was a leaflet with them with an 0800 no. so I called it and I got to talk to an agent. She said that due to my email a cancellation order had gon through, but I'd have to pay for mthe tablets I had @£27 instead of £75.Or I could send them back within 21 days of my original order. So they are about to be posted by recorded delivery just to make sure. The no. I called was 0800 520 0449. I was given a very long code no. to put on the outside of the parcel. Here's hoping !!!!0

Further to my last post, I am in the UK and the company that sent them to me is called Pure Slim Ltd.Camberley GU15 3AJ. The phone no. is a free call no. too.0

There is no such thing as an official acai berry. You are talking nonsense. In any case colons don't need cleansing, the body is quite capable of doing this itself!"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
