i have just phoned to be advised i am on the list and someone from the missing payments dept will ring be back b4 12 noon on wednesday. I asked if there were many people in my position that had missing money - he said no - he had just 5 people on his list

    ohhhh what porkies

it is clear that there will be no money in my account today or tomorrow. I cannot just sit here doing nothing now and see no alternative but to start a court action against ING. At least I will be doing something rather than just logging onto my account every hour:mad: let me know if anyone else is planning to do the same

I worked for a number of years in a Big-4 insolvency department and this mess does not surprise me in the slightest. I would imagine that whilst all the qualified, senior members of the administrators team are working 18 hour days discussing “high level strategy” and “the smooth realisation of capital” the payment of our money has been entrusted to a back-office team with little grasp of the real life effect of their actions (or lack of them).
I would just like to say that I consider myself to be "high level strategy"...

still nothing for me and I am travelling north shortly - with no money:confused:

    Deja Vu.

Monday morning, no money. Sick of it.

    Ditto
  • Still no cash! Called the number left my details, 48hrs...
  • Guess what folks ..... STILL NO FUNDS! Phoned KE again today ..... told they would add me to the "list" and it will take 48 hours to investigate ....!!

I told them that I had continually corresponded with them via secure message so they already knew I was missing my payment so why did they not already have me on the "list"?

After some discussion I was put through to the supervisor and the young lady on the line was very helpful ..... she offered to chase it up personally today and let me know what is happening - which for me is a result. I feel a little less angry because someone (Becky) was willing to listen to me and to do something about it rather than fobbing me off. Thank you Becky I appreciate your help in this very difficult time for us all.

    I await further information

UPDATE: Becky phoned me back ...... told me that the people in London (the Administrators) will not look into individual cases - KE have to send "spreadsheets" every day at 5pm which will then be considered within 48 hours. I don't suppose the Administrators have money missing from their accounts!!!!!

I am now angry again! How many of us are still waiting for what are large sums of money which we were all promised would be / had been returned by last week - then today - then ????

Will any of us trust foreign banks again? SHOULD WE? My husband and I wanted to book a holiday - we are unable to do so with so much money still "held" "somewhere", we had hoped with the KE funds back to us we could book it, no doubt by the time we receive the money the holiday will no longer be available.

To all those who haven't phoned KE - If you don't phone they won't check your transfer details more closely - they only pass on the information once you have phoned them.

8 OCTOBER CHAPS (requested on 6th October) - TRANSFER OUT OF KE £35k
No sign of payment into link account HSBC since
CHAPS requested 6th OCTOBER to HSBC Link Acc
Transfer out 8th October - CHAPS refund 29 Oct (dated 7th Oct on KE Statement), funds into link Account 31 October 3pm
  • Just gave Kaupthing a call to add my name to the list of "missing" BACS payments which I arranged on the 7th October.

The guy I spoke to said their computer system was running slow (I bet it is!!) took my details and said that they will be passed on to "the administrators" at ING and a team leader will call me back within 48hrs. I must say that their front end of call takers seems to be working well with the 0845 number and from start to finish my call lasted 3mins - Just wish that they'd give us the money back this quick.

I was also a customer of Kaupthing in Sweden where I must say this whole affair was handed much better. The administrators in Sweden are HSBC and I got all my money back in less than 1 week plus was kept informed of the whole process via email.

I was just going to call them until I read how many people have already done this and got nowhere. My linked account is Smile also not that it makes any difference. I feel cheated by all this. I don't know why a manager needs a spreadsheet to look through the names. He just needs to press some buttons on a computer the way we have been doing for weeks!. The mention of a spreadsheet makes it sound that they do have a system that is working to the detriment of a lot of us. Is there any point in writing to the Ombudsman.
The FSA site indicates that they don't handle complaints.

In all my life this is the first time I feel I've been beated by one of these cynical financial organisations.

Good morning guys. Well, here we are again....

    :confused:CHAPS £20 K 7/10, left 7/10, Barclays nada, no email, no nothing

... Drown sorrows in West Jesmond methinks!....

Once again, you are all stars and so supportive. Makes me feel quite loved:o

Mira, lo de "West Jesmond" - cuentame - es una cerveza o una ciudad?

Sorry, Madre, been away for a day or so - just reading through and catching
up with what's new... still doesn't look too clever yet, does it....

    Here's hoping for you all...
The 'Mad' refers to my state of mind, not my degree of anger.... (still crazy after all these years)
  • Does any know how long its supposed to take chaps payments to come through?
    Thanks

I felt exactly the same, but I would phone up anyway, just so that they know (and you know) that your money is missing. For all we know, they could be waiting for people to phone in to know who is missing money... :(
