New Kaupthing CHAPS/BACS Transfers discussion - Friday 24th October

    Same sh*t, different day.

    I was assured by KE (twice) that this weeks payments had gone out via CHAPS, so thats further evidence of contradictory, misleading information.

    I initiated my CHAPS payment on the 6th Oct (but after 2pm so expected processing/receipt on the 7th). Money left LE on 8th. Still awaited at LTSB. Destination account information correct.

    I also had my CHAPS fee recredited to my KE account on the 20th... frankly I don't give a stuff about that when they have lost thousands of my hard earned/saved pounds.

    This has happened to me too. If you don't mind me asking, did your KE account fall into a 0 or negative balance after your transfered out of it? As it seems a lot of people who have had CHAPs fee refunded have been in this situation.
    No more offshore banking for me :rolleyes:

    you could ring this number for ings instead of 08451313234.
    Number is 01159836331. ...I use an access no 18866 ( need to register) and it costs me only 5p for the duration of the call no matter how long the wait. Also its free for those with BT unlimited daytime calls

  • Transferred money out via BACS on 7th October - still waiting! ING Customer Services don't seem to have any realistic answers. It's always that the money should appear in my account "soon", but nobody can tell me when or why it is "lost"!

    Is there anyone we can actually complain to - The police: This is theft!, The FSA: probably an absolute waste of time - they caused this mess in the 1st place!

    You won't believe this!!!!! Just checked my Nationwide account.
    I did a £1 BACS transfer from KE to Nationwide on Wednesday, to see that money are coming through. It seems yesterday I got it my linked account - and it is shown as CHAPS!!!!! So, the money are going through.... By CHAPS!!!

  • Just got through on 08451 313234 no wait at all . They had correct details of my attempted transfers and I was promised a call on Tuesday . I will however not be holding my breath !! After taking all the details the very nice lady then asked if there was anything else she could help me with today ?!?!?! I think she was a bit taken aback when I said No thank you , just finding my £45k that you have lost will be quite enough ! Martin , any pressure you can exert on ING to sort this mess out would be very welcome. :confused:

    I took 3 days, so I would say it’s BACS but I think they have done a special deal to get them labelled CHAPS for some reason. BACS are free.

    That’s quite a breakthrough if they can actually look at your account.

    I rang too..and the 'very very very nice lady' by the name of Lianne said she will forward my details to the administrators but its not likely anything will be resolved on Monday as the 'very very nasty administrators' do not work over the weekend.

  • Did everyone who is still waiting initiate their transfers on 7th or 8th Oct ?
