  • I think it is usually automated for some reason if there is a discrepency in the payment. I just rember i looked into this sometime ago when the same happened to me (nothing to do with ING). Worth typing BACS into Google, that is where i got the info from. I think i had to go a few pages down the list until i got a simple mans guide
Actually, I think you get better results if you search for 'bank automated clearing system'
  • I see our 'waiting for money list' is growing - now 70.
    2 accounts:-
    1/ BACS requested 7th -left KE 8th - funds received Fri 17th
    2/ CHAPS requested 7th - left KE 8th - funds received Thurs 30th Oct.
    CHAPS fees returned 27.10.08

As a result of this, I got charged by my bank for going overdrawn briefly, does anyone know if KE have a policy regarding covering fees we've been charged as a result of the slowest transfer in history? ;-)

I asked the same questions at KE and ING and they told me to keep all records, ie Credit card statements, phone bills, but did not say whether they would or would not compensate.
  • Ooops! read that wrong it's 60!!

My experience is that I tried to withdraw the majority of my money from KE on the 7th Oct then the remaining £100 on the 8th, both BACS, strangely the £100 turned up on the 21st Oct, but am STILL waiting for the majority. Does this mean they are prioritising smaller sums? and if so, why?

Noithing to do with the relative value. Like you I have a missing 7/10 transaction but completed 8/10 transaction, but unlike you the latter was the much larger.

I think we should forget the theories - there are payments missing, looking increasingly like 7th and a smattering of 8th transactions, not all of these are CHAPS. No longer care about the theory, just get on that special number and let them know of your particular transaction
  • Not a single apology in that statement

    Not even a decent shift!

Is anyone having any luck with individual cases on the special KE number? I have been waiting 4 days for information regarding why my money was transferred on the 17th and then recalled the very same day. Original on Weds was told 24 hours, then 48 hours and today the call centre person just said they were not getting any replies from the administrators and there was nothing they could do to explain what had happened - what's the point of this special number if they cannot give you any help?

Still emailing, phoning around etc, I want some sort of reassurance that I won't be given another unobtainable update from ING as to when I will receive my savings back, I don't see this as a quick process with KE/ING's recent record..........I just hope I am wrong.

    Morning all

Hope you all managed to sleep well after yesterdays massive let down yet again

Thanks to hometune for keeping up the list, I was wondering with the information you have if any sort of pattern has been established to the missing payments. ie are they all from 7th / 8th .

I personally think that although many payments were made on the 7th including b4 the 2pm cut off time which showed as leaving our accounts immediately. By this stage KE were already overwhelmed and couldnt cope, therefore these transactions were still waiting to be processed on the 8th which was the day of the takeover. therefore i think the problem lies with many transactions being lost in the confuusion that took place on the 8th
  • I am sure many of us here also have savings at icesave......well visit www.fscs.org.uk/consumer. Announces compensation payments to commence in november.

I hope they are not in alphabetical order!
