I posted earlier that when I spoke to ING this afternoon she was adamant that the payments were all going out as bacs NOT chaps. There's your answer I'm afraid.....
If this were the case, it is exactly the sort of information we would appreciate knowing on the ING propaganda... sorry I mean... updates

If they had sent all the payments out by BACS, this would explain why on Tuesday they said everyone should have their money by Friday.

But it just doesnt add up... why not send by CHAPS? The CHAPS system still works for every other bank and is the best guaranteed way to send money fast.

It's not all of the transactions from that period, it's some as some of us in that timeframe have got our money back. The pattern is that, seemingly, some CHAPS (mostly) transactions initiated between start of business 7th and start of business the 8th are those that have not yet arrived.
I agree, it is sporadic, I was on this forum when myself and Worrier (I think thats was his name) initiated our CHAPS transfers. We were concerned as the money did not leave the account straight away, but we decided not to repeat the withdraw. Worrier got his cash... I didnt get mine :(

Geez.... still (at least) 62 people not received long dated xfers.........

It seems that any funds not received in destination accounts by close of business on Monday 27th will be PROBLEMS as we have been told that ALL outstanding xfers would have been made by Thursday 23rd (do bear in mind that xfers these are all being made by BACS not CHAP/quote]

    Now I'm confused!
If all these transfers were being made by BACS,why would anyone be expected to receive them on Friday?......but that was what ING have stated.
They say they don't know why the transfers haven't arrived.
So did they do all the transfers on Tuesday......if so,why not say so,rather than keep everyone in the dark again.

    Hi Haider
No worries about the list! I have received my money so my blood pressure is back to normal now! Have a rest and definitely take it easy!
Thanks for maintaining the list before sorry I missed your name off my original post!!
hehe... poor Haider, he maintained the list well himself, then when the job is handed over, he is missed off :)
  • After phone discussion on Friday about why what I was being told differed from the message on the website, and getting nowhere, other having to accept that my payment would arrive on Friday, I rang this morning to tell them it still hadn't arrived.
They carefully took my information and entered it into their spreadsheet as we spoke. They told me their manager would get back to me by Tuesday either phone or email.
It could be the whole exercise is being run by spreadsheet. Since this is likely to be an exceptional exercise, I would think the scope for errors is pretty large, especially if the operatives (or more likely their managers) are not fluent in managing information that way.

I have had 13 people contact me out of the 62 people waiting.

The Total for the 13 is £350,389

If anyone else wants to PM me their amount and date I will add them to the list!

Next update will be late afternoon as I'm out today!
Good morning guys. THis is miserable. Just for the record -(you may have my details already) I'm a CHAPS 7/10 from KE to Barclays for £20K. AND I HAVE NOTHING..seriously overdrawn now. I have not had an email or contact and I have done no chasing...so will phone now.
    CHAPS 7/10 £20K landed in Barclays 7/11:j

What I mean is,if they didn't finish clearing the backlog till Thursday night, then obviously at least some would NOT get them on Friday, whereas if they had cleared them on Tuesday, why wait till 8.45pm on Friday to say so.

The sheer incompetence of this company is beyond description.
At the beginning of the second week,I was thinking perhaps we should indeed give them some slack,as others were saying........in fact,in a moment of weakness, I did even consider touching them with a bargepole.
    Not now.

After the disappointment of the cash not turning up yesterday (even though i didnt really expect it too) I am feeling a bit better about things this morning.

We are a bit further forward. Individual cases are now being looked into, so at least things are moving.

Panic Button - as for the question of being 100% sure whether we'll get the cash back. I think a lot of people are 99.9%, but until everyone can see their cash, that small percentage of doubt will always exist, leading to that nasty churning feeling in our stomachs.
  • Well, I thought I was amongst those still waiting for my money as the balance on my linked account hadn't changed. However, when I took a look at my statement in detail I noticed the transfer did arrive on the 17th October as promised but was taken back by KE the same day, with a description "F/FLOW CORRECTION". I checked with my linked account bank (Lloyds) who say the money was recalled the same day it was deposited, and that they have no further information why. Like everyone else trying to call KE it's a waste of time as they can't give any clue as to what is going on or why this has happened - has it happened to anyone else? Very frustrating to get the money and then have it taken away again! Needless to say it hasn't reappeared on KE balance.

I agree Smitty - they should at least have the decency to get our money to us as quickly as possible. Sending it via BACS rather than CHAPS is really rubbing our noses in it.
    2 accounts:-
    1/ BACS requested 7th -left KE 8th - funds received Fri 17th
    2/ CHAPS requested 7th - left KE 8th - funds received Thurs 30th Oct.
    CHAPS fees returned 27.10.08
