Hi All
Still here in the background. Congratulations to all who were reunited with their money last week :j that's great news!
However, still absolutely appalled that 20 or so are still waiting.... this is totally unacceptable COME ON ING! I can't believe you need another week to sort out these poor, very patient people!
CHAPS requested 10 Oct, left KE 15 Oct, finally arrived 18.00, 4th Nov0 -
Can't believe this kdm.....it's enough to make you want to keep your money (when it's possible to get hold of it ) under the mattress! Maybe we could start a new bank???? We have enough experience between us!!
Good luck...can you scan and send identification data...or are they making you post the lot and worry that they lose that??I have money!!!!:j :j :j :j 31st October 3.30pm. Organised by nice lady from E & Y, very, very grateful.
£20 debit for CHAPS received 27th - dated 7th on A/C0 -

Not having received any payment over the weekend, I called KE again this morning. I was told that "a team leader wanted to speak to me" but wasn't free - so "would call me back in a few mins". After an hour and a half, no one called so I called them again.
The person on the line looked again at the statements and after conferring with her colleagues, indicated that the sort code on my linked account "looked funny" and believes that this is now the reason. Therefore, in order for me to progress this, I need to send through a bank statement, a copy of my passport and they will investigate again! Apparently there is no one with any information who can check why the payment hasn't gone through so they are working off suppositions and hypotheses.
Really can't believe all this - how stressful should getting your own money back really be???
Ring them back and ask them to ask head office to initiate a trace/recall on the money. Unfortunately this can take a couple of weeks but it might the speed things up.
I am in a similar position.0 -

I am in a similar position.
Strange that because it happened to me as well, I did a bacs on 26/9/08 - it didn't turn up, enquired about it around 3/10 and it turned out they had my incorrect sort code despite me sending copies of bank statements and passport etc in June. They then changed the sort code to the correct one, and I did a chaps on 16/10 and got paid eventually 31/10 into the correct bank account. I still haven't been re-united with the bacs i did on 26/9 and they do know about it but it was for a relatively small amount, and will chase when everyone on this thread has been paid. But it seems to be a common problem with KE that the sort codes are incorrect - human error ?? :rolleyes:0 -
BACS Transfers
I’m only speaking from my own experience: Last week I transferred my £20 CHAPS refund and remaining interest out of my KE account, selecting the BACS transfer option, because it was free. The money arrived in my linked account the following day labelled CHAPS. I can’t say this will happen for everybody but please give it a try and post the results.
Good luck for this afternoon folks.0 -

Thanks for support everyone.
What's particularly frustating about the situation now is that even this diagnosis isn't necessarily the answer - it's just their best guess at the moment and if they've guessed wrong, I will just have to start going round the houses yet again after a few more weeks delay.
And they have the gall to keep updates on their website about how everything has been sorted....
Greecian - yes, they are making me post original bank statement (although thankfully a photocopy of the passport will do).0 -
So sorry to hear that there are still a few waiting to be reunited with their money. It seems that there are not many now so ING should have the resources to look at each one individually and get them all sorted within a short time frame - no excuses.
It was hard enough waiting for the 3 weeks or so that I endured. I am sure that everyone will get their savings back now though, so hard as it is for those still waiting, try to remain positive.
Come on ING, we know you read this, enough is enough, we want this thread closed ASAP and that won't happen until everyone has their money.
On a different note, I did two BACS transfers last Monday, one from my Kaupthing/ING account to empty it, and another from my wife's ING account. The ING one went through exactly as expected in 3 days. The Kaupthing one took 4 days and was described as a CHAPS transfer in the receiving account so they are obviously still not processing transfers to normal practise yet.0 -
My original BACS transfer of 20/10 to my linked account was credited back to my KE account via CHAPS on 4/11. I foolishly thought that this was the start of KE sorting out the payment, so I waited. I was promised the money would be in by COB 6/11 and then by 7/11 - both by personal emails. I have now, this morning at 10:00, done a new BACS transfer for a slightly different amount (to avoid any confusion). So I suppose it will be Wednesday/Thursday before I find out - hope it works OK this time.0

It's difficult to keep up to speed (or lack of it) with what's going on with transfers but why does it seem to be so completely arbitrary who becomes one of the chosen few?
I only ever made two phone calls to KE and I never received an email or a phone call. Is it anything to do with a combo of date and size of transfer?CHAPS 7/10 £20K landed in Barclays 7/11:j0
