  • Just to let those of you still waiting to be put on the 'lucky list' that I'm still here rooting for you. I'm off to London, so I'm sorry but I won't be able to check in again until this evening..........but GOOD LUCK to all of you. You must all have terrible stress levels and we do empathise with you....we'll listen to any rants you have - we've all been there. Do you think the 'big boys' at ING and Ernst & Young had fun weekends - you bet they did...unlike all of those still having to play the waiting game.

Take care all of you....I'll keep all my bits crossed that there will be good news for one an all today.
    I have money!!!!:j :j :j :j 31st October 3.30pm. Organised by nice lady from E & Y, very, very grateful.

    £20 debit for CHAPS received 27th - dated 7th on A/C
  • Waiting and watching.....till everyone has received their savings.
    ....Illegitimi non carborundum

...don't let the illegitimate ones grind you down....
  • Always paranoid about "clogging the thread" but it's true that silent support on the internet is difficult! So here is my wish, added to many others, that someone somewhere will get their money back today. I know there are many who just read the thread because anyone who has been through this experience really knows how helpful it is to hear from others who are or who have been in the same position. Don't know why it helps but it does - means you are not alone I suppose.

To anyone still waiting & not on the List, please post on here & let us know your experiences, & keep pestering KE/ING so they know you're there!

Hello - I have perhaps naively been thinking, “oh my money is ok in the ING thing, its protected by the government” however today when I decided I needed my money from the “instant” access account, the on line thing is not letting me transfer!!

So my questions are as follows.

“Can you withdraw your money, and get it within the 3 days stated in BACS?”

“With the fixed bond is it best to leave and wait the term? Are they paying the interest at the end, and will you get it? The interest and the initial sum deposited?”

Thank you in advance – for me being so dim!!

Online BACS is working fine but needs 4 full working days

    I initiated a Bacs on Tuesday 4/Oct @10:00 and recvd Fri 7/Oct @15:00

    Good luck to all remaining

    Hello Kate.
ING is covered by the Dutch compensation scheme. The Dutch economy is rate AAA, same as the UKs. If the Dutch failed to pay out, the UK FSCS would, in my opinion but there is no formal staement to that effect. Yes it is disgracefully unclear. However the Dutch govt has already indicated its support as ING has had e10bill to strengthen its capitol ratios so ING is likely sound. I have chosen to remain with ING but at UK FSCS limits 'cos I am ultra cautious.
Get it within 3 days? It appears peoples experience is varying. My withdrawal took 5days and I had to do some determined chasing to get it. I've seen a few reporting 10 days for theirs. Small amounts seem to be reported as taking 4 days and appear to not need chasing.
If your FTB has got a good some time to run I'd leave it in. Absolutely definitely leave it if a 2 or 3year - you're unlikely to get that interest rate in the next few years IMHO.
Should you choose to encash it there is 2 hurdles to jump:
    1. Terminate the bond and the cash is 'made up' with the interest less the penalty and paid into your KE 'easy access' a/c.
    2. You then have the bacs withdrawal hurdle. Shouldn't be a prob, you say? Took them 2 weeks to agree to terminate my bond (3mths to run) & only then after giving them grief. TBF that was mid Oct when they were in all sorts of disarray.
Phone and ask if there is going to be a delay; it may be all sorted, or they may tell you it's all sorted. If they say 'No prob' keep a note of who you spoke to and be prepared to name them when/if things go wrong.
    Good luck!

I did a BACS last week out of my instant access account with ING and it arrived incredibly quickly - within the 3 days.

Regard your fixed term, I would tend to leave it if you can as all the rates are dropping today.
  • Hi everyone, haven't posted for a while but have been lurking and catching up everyday, just wanted to wish everybody luck on being reunited with their savings today.
  • I really hope this will be the final week of this nightmare.
  • Just to add my bit, I am still here too, supporting and wishing you well. I remember too keenly how I felt before I got my money to ever abandon the list till it closes.
Just to re-iterate something I said a couple of days ago, I made a formal complaint via a Team Leader and that was when things seemed to start happening for me, two phone calls, an email, and then tara! payment a couple of days later. Maybe just coincidence. Do anything you can to help yourself and keep shouting at them. Remember, there are lots of others not on this list waiting too, and they don't have the support of all the good people here. At least you are not alone with us. Good luck everyone this week, will be reading and waiting with you x

Not having received any payment over the weekend, I called KE again this morning. I was told that "a team leader wanted to speak to me" but wasn't free - so "would call me back in a few mins". After an hour and a half, no one called so I called them again.

The person on the line looked again at the statements and after conferring with her colleagues, indicated that the sort code on my linked account "looked funny" and believes that this is now the reason. Therefore, in order for me to progress this, I need to send through a bank statement, a copy of my passport and they will investigate again! Apparently there is no one with any information who can check why the payment hasn't gone through so they are working off suppositions and hypotheses.

Really can't believe all this - how stressful should getting your own money back really be???
