  • Hi there, we currently have our £10k loan that we took out to cover our forthcoming wedding next year tied up in a KE account. We haven't tried to transfer any money before or after this mess. I really don't want to keep it there any longer as i'm incredibly worried about it. Is it safe to transfer the money out yet? Are people submitting new transfer requests still having issues, or is it just people that transferred during the changeover to ING?

    Thanks in advance!

I requested a large BACS transfer early on Tuesday, so I'm expecting it to arrive by tomorrow (or Monday allowing for an extra day because of the backlog). I'll let you know if it works OK.

I think most of the issues on this thread have been associated with the days around and just after the transfer of ownership on the 8th, but a couple of people have reported more recent delays!! I'd believe anything of this shower after their performance so far, so I suggest you evaluate the pros and cons.

Fingers crossed for those still waiting - I'm still here supporting you all even though I've been quiet for a while.

I just received a call from KE to say that my original transfers would be made to my account today - here's hoping that for the first time in weeks, they actually have told me something truthful!
  • Hi folks, an update.

Got a call back from ING today and they have partially explained the problems.

Of the remaining payments sent on the weekend, a chunk did leave Kaupthing but never arrived at the destinations. After realising this (they read it on here, amongst other things) they have re-sent the payments they know didnt arrive.

However, they can't be totally sure of which ones didnt arrive, as all the money did leave their side. So it is crucial you give them a call on

To make it clear that you are one of the people who hasn't got their money.

I know it seems ridiculous that you are having to call them again, but at the moment it seems the quickest path to getting your money back.

Just received email following my daily telephone call to say that my Account and my wife's will be credited by close of business today- they have now found that "one batch of payments did fail"
??? How big is a batch?
Can't understand why we are being so PESSIMISTIC -probably because we have now moved up to MANAGERIAL LEVEL!!!!
  • Would I be better off moving my money elsewhere?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    To be frank ......

I wouldn't give these people (ING) a fright if I was a ghost!!!
    Non illigitamus carborundum!!
  • I transferred my interest last Saturday by BACS & it appeared in my bank on Tuesday using a CHAPS payment! As the amount was for less than £5, have they really got a deal with Royal Bank of Scotland (the clearing bank) to not pay for CHAPS payments? If not, that transfer has cost them app £15! Very strange!

Also, there have been others who withdrew money last week & have got it but you would need to look back through this thread.

After MSE Dan's post, I am beginning to believe that none of them have got a clue what is happening - is this the way to run a bank? Would you trust this bank to look after your money?
