  • Just received the following from Michael Mates MP's secretary:

Very sorry you have not yet received your money. We are doing all we
can to get information from the Treasury Minister and will be in touch
as soon as we have some news for you.

    :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

Incidently have just applied for a SAGA fixed rate (monthly interest) at 7.02% - I now have five days to get my cheque to them before this rate will most certainly be dropped.

Fingers Crossed my money comes through in time!

    Oh. I thought it was...

    Best move my bunce then...

But you will be covered bythe Euro100,000 k Dutch fund, thoughh the logistics of a claim may be more onerous.

As I said the Bank rate has been cut by 1.5% just 30 minutes ago so rates will come down quickly.

I requested a chaps payment from Kaupthingedge of over £35K on 10th Oct and am still waiting despite numerous phone calls, emails etc. I need the money and am worried about where it is, it left KE account on 15th Oct and hasn't turned up. They said it would definitely go in this morning and haven't returned my phone call. What can I do?

Just spoke to a woman at SAGA - I am awaiting my documentation to come through and asked her whether I will still get the fixed rate interest deal, she said they wouldn't be changing the rate for a couple of weeks, I hope this was true../:confused:

It has also been said that you will wait up to 1 year for any compensation

It is beyond comprehension that there are approximately 30 people still waiting for their money and the media are still not interested in doing anything!
    WHY???
My heart goes out to you - I hope you all get your money soon.

Keep ringing K E and ring ING and e-mail some of the addresses which you'll find on this thread's pages - you will get your money! PM theFury and get on the "List" with the rest of us. Good luck and keep at them like we all are.

    Hi folks, an update.

Got a call back from ING today and they have partially explained the problems.

Of the remaining payments sent on the weekend, a chunk did leave Kaupthing but never arrived at the destinations. After realising this (they read it on here, amongst other things) they have re-sent the payments they know didnt arrive.

However, they can't be totally sure of which ones didnt arrive, as all the money did leave their side. So it is crucial you give them a call on

    08451 31 32 34

To make it clear that you are one of the people who hasn't got their money.

I know it seems ridiculous that you are having to call them again, but at the moment it seems the quickest path to getting your money back.

I had to read this post twice, because I couldn't believe what I was reading.

Thanks a million Zaphod; you've been a great support all these weeks. I've just had a call from K E to tell me that my cash will be in my destination a/c by COB tomorrow and so I now head off in somewhat better spirits. Hopefully when I come back on here on Sat pm all of the "CHAPS 29" will have been paid!!!!!!
