Good luck to all of you waiting to go onto the 'lucky list'! I can't believe that another Friday is here and the list hasn't shrunk and this thread is still running. It's SOOO unfair! As always, all my bits will be crossed for you. Don't beat yourselves up too much. But have a scream here if you need to...we've all been there, so we understand. I'm still rooting for you..........I'll check in later

:(
I have money!!!!:j :j :j :j 31st October 3.30pm. Organised by nice lady from E & Y, very, very grateful.

£20 debit for CHAPS received 27th - dated 7th on A/C
• I've been giving some thought to the large newspaper ad to publicly shame ING, and whilst I think it's a good idea, we know that they have resisted all the public shaming that they've had in this forum, presumably because it has limited circulation.

A large ad would hopefully do them a lot of harm in the eyes of the public, business and their shareholders, but by discussing it in this forum, which we know that they read, gives them time to defend themselves.

If the content of the letter is made public here, along with the arrangements for publishing, they'll know everything about the battle plan.

They know what we are discussing/planning, and they're prepared.

Any action should be covert, and planned by PM or e-mail.

Feeding them with all our information from this forum plays into their hands (or how about some false info.....;)?)

Hey,

So i joined up with kaupthing edge i think in september and kept my money in there, so its going fine, and my moneys going in ok (i aint tried to take any out)

But i read that its no longer under the england bank code, where you get £50,000 back if it goes bust.
I now read that its £75,000 but with the Dutch bank code, at least something like that.

Im completely new to savings accounts, and just wondered, is my money safe? shall i keep it in there? or do you think its best i take it out and put it into another savings account?

Im sorry but im worried sick now, thanks for your help!

Lou

I agree with ladyhepburn on this one loulybooly - do your own research.

However my inclination is to opt for a good fixed rate (with instant access if possible) as I believe this recession is going to be long and hard. There's some good rates out there at the moment but they won't be around for long.

I wouldn't stay with ING for love nor money and neither would I go with any bank operating the 'passport' scheme. My investments will be with British banks and with only 50k per institution.

Yesterdays Money Mail in the Daily Mail makes good sensible reading - catch up with it online if you didn't read it.

If you're over 60 the Coventry Building Society are offering 6.15% at the moment with 12 penalty free cheque withdrawals p/a. Or if you're over 50 there's a 60 day notice A/C offering 5.7%.

Good luck! (it's a minefield)

Would the newspapers report it? I think not as ING spend big money on advertising in most of them.

That's partly my point.

If they knew what we were up to, they may possibly lean on the newspaper. If they didn't know what was happening, I doubt that the advertising dept. would let them know.

Also, don't forget that there must be quite a few national papers that don't have ING advertising.

I really can't believe that you guys are STILL waiting for your money. This is a complete mess.

Just how long does it take for your payments to be traced???

Come on ING/Administrators give these people a stress free weekend and return their money.
No more offshore banking for me
• Still no sign of MY MONEY and I wonder how much longer this is going to go on and what is really happening? I tried once more this morning to mail alastairhemmings@ingdirect.co.uk but my message bounced straight back! Is this Hemmings' correct address or has he evaporated too?

Worrying times and I'm heading off in an hour or two for a few days in lieu of the weekend I cancelled because of this fiasco. I'm going to a fairly remote part of Donegal where I won't have internet access; won't I have a stressfree time?

K E/ING THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE -- IT'S 4 WEEKS YESTERDAY SINCE I ASKED FOR MY MONEY AND I WANT IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MARTIN, CAN YOU HELP PLEASE ??????????

• Hello All,

This is my first post on here, so apologies if I'm going over old ground or rambling on..

I put a substantial (for me) amount in KE a couple of months ago and was feeling pleased with myself for finally starting to look after my money. Now though, I have a few concerns.
My money's in an Easy Access savings account which is currently paying 6.55% AER.

I have concerns that there are a lot of people on here that haven't recieved their money after some weeks and a suggestion that the interest rates are going to drop significantly.

I spoke to KE about 10 minutes ago and was told that this type of account is operating as previously, the interest rate is going to remain at 6.55% and there are no issues with moving money in or out.
The problems are all related to the fixed accounts.

Is this true? Would I be better off moving my money elsewhere?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks
