Another way to look at it is, if the media were to take this up, some may consider them negligent in the event that a run be made on the particular organisations mentioned ..........

A bit like closing the barn doors after the horse has bolted if you ask me! I personally have never witnessed such an act of commercial suicide as ING have commited

I contacted my MP last week and received a reply saying that he would contact the Treasury Minister and would let me know when he received a reply - to date ZILCH - so I have sent another email tonight:

Could you please point out to Mr Mates that I, and many others, have still not received our monies from Kaupthing Edge. On Monday I received a phone call from them to say that my cash would be in my bank account on Tuesday (without fail) - it has not arrived. I have sent emails to every member of the ING board - only to receive yet another phone call today from Edge asking me (for the third time) for my full details in order to arrange yet another spread sheet at the request of ING. They refuse to give me a reference number to quote and can give me no idea as to when I can expect my funds.

The Treasury arranged for ING to take over Kaupthing Edge and it is a total disaster. YOU CANNOT PAY MONEY IN AND YOU CAN'T GET MONEY OUT. THEY HAVE IN EFFECT LOST THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS OF POUNDS OF OUR MONEY.

There appears to be a total cover up. The Treasury have just replied with a standard letter (attached) that does not address our problems. The FSA just tell us to contact ING (waste of space).

What the hell is going on? The bank rate is due to reduce tomorrow and I am a pensioner who needs to get this money into a fixed rate account urgently. There is no way I can live on the state pension and my private pension was with Equitable Life - again another problem which appears to be ignored.

Just remind Mr Mates that I and my fellow constituents are paying his wages - let's see some results. I have now waited a month for this money!

Would suggest that you all do the same - enough is enough.

I'm happy to contribute to any money stuff, even though I've got mine back. The lack of respect from banks towards their customers these days is ridiculous.

I cannot believe that no payments have come through today. The lack of information and action from ING/KE/Ernst & Young is absolutely disgusting. :mad:

Has anyone recieved official notification that ING have in fact taken over their accounts & what their future intentions are?

I have recieved nothing from them, no email, phone call, welcome pack, letter - NADA!! I had no idea that the interest rates are dropping tomorrow as mentioned by Apoorwoman above

Surely you have to agree to their T's&C's???

Dear Mr.Darling,
You know those nice people at Ingdirect who were supposed to give us our money back, well GUESS WHAT ? They’ve still got hundreds of thousands of pounds of it and won’t return it to us, its rightful owners.


They tell us barefaced lies.
They make and break promises.
They issue deadlines but don’t meet them.
They ignore our cries and pleas for help.
They blame it on everyone else.

AND WE STILL HAVEN’T GOT OUR MONEY BACK !!!

You gave them our money in the first place so sort it please.
They won’t take any notice of us.

Unfortunately we are right back to where we were last week ( or was it the one before ? ) with hopes of press coverage from Guardian and then Sunday Times , Martin on Jeremy Vine Show and e mails galore to MP's , ING / KE etc etc .

I think that the administrators are the key . Someone posted earlier that having e mailed Ms Mills within a few days the money turned up - mine was exactly the same .. 3 days after e mailing no reply from her or KE etc but then it turned up unannounced . I suggest tomorrow everyone tries ringing Maggie Mills or Bloom ( forget his first name ) or failing that ask to speak to any of the partners at E and Y - say that you have a serious complaint to bring against them and they should not fob you off with we'll call you back crap .. and if nothing comes from it , final letter threatening legal action to the high command at ING / KE sent by recorded delivery will surely stir them into action . If everyone still waiting does this it has to bring the message home to them .


This is not just disgusting it 's absolutely f***ING disgraceful ! I also have an ING account opened before all this crap - I shall be closing it asap - ING you have lost me as a customer for life - take notice that I am not the only one !!!

Oh oh oh - just remembered that an old uni mate of mine now works for a local paper in Exeter (I think). Will pass on the story - locals tend to pick up investigative stories, then the nationals chase them up.

Out of interest, if they do do a story, is there anyone in the Devon-y area they could use for an interview etc? I'm in Wales.

Just do not uderstand this, still over 30 people on this forum who have still not been paid,

So have the caretakers been in contact? like ING Direct and KE ?
Do they (KE/ING) need more information from the people who are still waiting?

With all the So called Brains on the subject at both ING/KE, where is the block??????????, it cannot be held up still by the administrators,

The people that are waiting , to me have given all the relivant information, like account number, and such, so on.

Are they (Thinking) that these people are bogus, ALL BANKS CAN DO A TRACE ON MONEY MOVEMENTS, THATS A FACT, so are they saying it's lost data,

I think it maybe now about time that this forum, plus it's people power,
called in the Legal Begals, as it your money in a bank, our our county told us, will be returned, and charged ING , with the job.like removal of a Ships Captain due to sheer incompitance, use the legal system to speed up or

It's very frustrating for those of us still with large amounts of cash trapped in the KE/ING system, but I'm not at all surprised that the media are not interested. There are probably a couple of hundred or so people involved, maybe GBP2m quid in total. Moreover ING have given explicit promises that these transfers will all be honoured (eventually). There are 300,000 Icesave savers with about GBP4000m who also haven got there money back as yet. Moreover savers in the offshore units of the Icelandic banks are as I understand it savers are set to lose about 80% of their savings. In this context, whilst its a huge issue for us, its just not newsworthy.

It does make sense to keep up pressure on KE/ING/E&Y by emails, telephone calls, hassling money advice sites etc but I think spending money on adverts/laywers is a waste of money at this point of time.

Its all a bit strarnge and difficult to understand what ING is playing at. Their left hand doesn't seem to know what their right is doing. Hopefully they will update their "latest situation" page tomorrow.
