Subject: MONEY 'LOST' AFTER TRANSFER FROM KAUPTHING EDGE

    Dear Mr (me)

    Thank you for your email.

I can confirm that you will need to contact ING Direct again to see if they now have access to your account. If they do not, you will need to contact Ernst & Young who are the liquidator of Kaupthing Edge as they have been dealing with issues such as yours.

If you have any further questions, please contact our helpline on 020 7892 7300.

    Yours sincerely

    Angela Freeland
    Senior Claims Officer.

My money was a 9/10 CHAPS transaction which got to my linked account on 22/10, but does this comment help anyone still waiting, I wonder?

Best wishes to all still waiting for their money!
  • I see that noone at all has received money today and only a few yesterday, so what the hell is going on? I've just rung ING and K E again; the ING lady took my details blah blah etc and will really try hard to do something for me while the nice lady at K E confessed that they knew only what Ernst and Young told them. She also said that it would be a waste of time ringing the latter as they won't talk to anyone, including K E!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a ****ING mess; I can't believe that this is happening!
Way back in this thread - someone rang Maggie Mills at Ernst and Young , and it seemed to have an effect for that individual. It might be worth a try!

KE veteran - life seemed so much simpler then!
  • Since it was Alistair Darling who arranged for ING to 'take over' KE, maybe some people on this thread feel it would be worth contacting AD himself about this mess.

If so, here's a relevant web page:

Really would suggest EVERYONE waiting should do this.......this is either sheer incompetence, fraud or theft.
It HAS to be one of them!!!!

Translation: The Crazy Scotsman (es decir Bill) is still here -

Is it REALLY TRUE that no one on the 'list' has had their cash repatriated today?

If I am mistaken, please do correct me.

If I am correct, then, as they say on "Father Ted" - !!!!..... I AM SOOOOO ANGRY ...........................
The 'Mad' refers to my state of mind, not my degree of anger.... (still crazy after all these years)

Such a ****ING mess; I can't believe that this is happening and I'm beginning to wonder if I'll lose my money, though should that happen I'll make sure somehow that heads roll!!!

I really thought that Tuesday was going see this whole nightmare brought to a conclusion. As one of about three people who got their money back yesterday, i now consider myself to be just lucky. I see that ING have not even had the decency to update the webb site.
They are still saying that all known payment transactions would be in destination accounts by COB Tuesday 4th October.

WELL ! ING SPOKE-PERSON IF YOU ARE READING THIS . "ALL OF THE PEOPLE ON OUR LIST, ARE ALSO ON YOUR SPREADSHEET AND KNOWN TO YOU. WHY DONT YOU JUST REPAY THEM THEIR MONEY?
Chaps requested 8th October : money left my account 8th October : £20 chaps fee deducted : destination account Halifax : Chaps fee of 20 re-funded to my KE account 27th October but dated 8th October: On the spreadsheet and received generic e-mail 29th October. Funds paid to my linked account 4th November

I e-mailed Maggie Mills on Friday past; she hadn't the courtesy to answer me!
Made a phone call to the FSCS and was assured that we will definitely get our money, if not from K E, then through compensation. That, I suppose, takes a little bit of pressure off me though I intend to continue pestering K E and ING.

I can't see why KE helpline staff don't simply accept fresh instructions for unpaid transfers, and cancel those made several weeks ago which have clearly gone into a black hole and which could take ages to resolve.
  • Logged in expecting to see everyone finally out of this appalling mess.Horrified to see that is not the case.I am one of the lucky ones but sent numerous e mails, made many unreturned phone calls etc as did others. The worst bit is the feeling of helplessness as you can only rant and rave at some faceless nobody on the other end of the phone. They can give you any old load of bull**!!!! and you have to take it and THEY KNOW THAT!! the BEST and i would imagine the most immediately effective would be the suggestion put forward by a previous post.(Jacara2 1.37pm) A HUGE newspaper advert in protest. I would be more than willing to contribute money. Is this a viable idea?
