If we take legal action, can we also be compensated for the aggravation, malpractice and negligence? and also for publishing false and misleading information? ING website (https://www.ingdirect.co.uk/kaupthingedge.asp) says that: "We are pleased to confirm that the backlog of external payments requested on or before Monday 20th October has now been cleared."

ie. % of the money that is being held? Does anyone know?

    Just 4 info

I received a secure message from KE as follows:

"Further to our recent telephone conversation, I''m pleased to inform you
that we have tracked your recent transaction and can confirm that the
funds will be credited to your nominated linked account by close of
    business on Thursday 30 October

The reason for the delay was that the transaction was held up at the
clearing bank. It has now been released for payment as outlined above.

We would like to apologise again for this delay and the inconvenience
    caused"

Miracles do happen as thhey managed to pay me a day early.

Anyone who was not contacted by phone or email should check their secure messages.

Don't hold your breath Greecian ..... I WAS added to the spreadsheet and today I got this:

Further to our recent telephone conversation where we committed to providing a response within 48 hours. Regrettably I have to inform you that the recent transaction from your Kaupthing Edge Account to your nominated linked account has been identified as being held up.

Whilst the instruction was given to process your transaction, we have now identified that the transaction has been held up at the clearing bank. As a result the payment has not yet been released and we are working with the clearing bank to release your payment in the quickest possible way so the funds are available to you as a matter of urgency.

We cannot stress enough that your money is safe and we continue our commitment to you in terms of resolving this issue.

ING Direct will refund the loss of interest on your Kaupthing Edge account that resulted from payment delays. CHAPS fees will also be refunded in cases where the payment was not sent within the normal timescale.

We appreciate your patience and we will update you shortly as to the timing of your transaction being released.

    Yours sincerely,

    Customer Services
    Kaupthing Edge

The STANDARD lies issued to anyone who has taken the time to phone. What Clearing Bank I have asked them .... do I expect an answer ....NO! As many of those already paid out have been HSBC customers it is patently clear it is not the main banking fraternity who are withholding our funds ... so who is?? Will we ever find out? I doubt it don't you. They "appreciate your patience" - well I am no longer patient

I am no longer patient...I/we have been continually fobbed off with one thing after another. I've sent out emails to the media, ING, KE et al, but I still feel utterly helpless. It's impossible to talk with anyone with any kind of clout...they're all in hiding while we run round like headless chicken. I just wish we had ONE phone number that was useful!!

Received two e.mails 1 yesterday 1 today spoke to KE could not understand why i have received another e.mail telling me held up in the clearing bank?? Customer advisor could not tell me anymore than what e.mail reads as they are not being told anything different. It's just lie upon lie. My local authority will want the rates paying next week i think i will point them in the direction of KE for payment as i will not have the money they have.

Pleased to see some of us are getting paid.:T

I dont see it, how can the 'transaction' be 'held up' by the 'clearing bank' if the a/c details are correct?
  • Nice one Nusaver, have large beer or whatever, i'll be doing the same when I get my money back
