The lady I spoke to at the ombudsman didn't even know who Kaupthing Edge were!!!
However, they do not deal with complaints for banks in administration, so if you want to log a complaint it has to be against ING.No more offshore banking for me :rolleyes:0 -

I lodged it with ING, but explained that my account is with KE; which ING owns.
I WARNED YOU ALL! they're just playing the blame game. ING: it's KE, KE: it's the administrators/clearing bank. Just wait and see...soon they'll tell us: "IT'S YOUR NOMINATED BANK, CHASE IT WITH THEM!"0 -

I still haven't received my retirement savings after 21 days.
I've written to the Financial Ombudsman Service, the newspapers and all the Ing Directors (had responses from the Customer Relations staff who are caring but are unable to tell you anything meaningful about your case.)
Have we any lawyers on this thread? Should we look at a class action against ING?
I think ING, as it professes on its website to have taken over responsibility for KE, its assets and liabilities, have a duty to recompense us immediately and make any recoveries/balancing adjustments when they find out where the money is.
The mistake is not ours and whoever's it is, ING has assumed responsibility and has the power, the legal and the moral duty to pay us first and do their balancing paperwork afterwards. They are getting around their obligation to pay us immediately by deflecting blame to others for the mistake (the Administrators and Clearing Banks).
It doesn't matter to customers where the blame lies and this shouldn't be being used by KE/ING as a reason to avoid its obligations. I've requested that my demand that customers should be paid now and paperwork squared up afterwards be put to KE/ING Directors so they can't use ignorance of the position as a later defence. The person I spoke to promised to put this to Directors.0 -

I can't believe there are still so many people left who haven't had their money back yet! My computer has been broken for the last week so I am just catching up with this and am really shocked and can't understand why some people have been paid and some not!. I was one of the lucky ones who got their money back on 20 October (transfer 7 Oct) and my CHAPS fees were refunded yesterday to my KE account. I really really feel for all of you who are still waiting, it's terribly upsetting and I can't believe KE/ING are getting away with promises that they break each week. Anyhow, BIG support from me and hope everyones money arrives this afternoon x0

I arranged a CHAPS transfer for the balance of my KE account on the evening of the 7th. The CHAPS should have been carried out on the 8th. It didn't arrive at my nominated account and then some time after 9pm on the 8th my account balance changed to £0.00. Now as I understand it ING had taken over Kaupthing Edge by that time.
Since then I've been watching this website and forum for news.
I rang the 0115 9836331 number on Saturday the 25th. I went through my withdrawal details with them and they confirmed with me the amount of money I am waiting for. I asked if they needed my transfer reference but they said they had all the details. I was told I would be telephoned on Monday or Tuesday. That didn't happen. I have also not received any emails apart from the "Welcome to ING" one just after the takeover.
I am getting sick of waiting now. The money I am waiting to get back is the money I was paid for being made redundant. Luckily I had enough money in the bank to pay my bills but that is starting to run out now. At this rate Icesave customers will be getting their money back (full compensation due in November) before me. Who knows how long it will take to get our interest and CHAPS charge refunded?0
