This is beyond a joke. 3 weeks and still no money.
Ing have announced that they have taken responsibility for the assets and liabilities of Kaupthing Edge. So ultimately, it is Ing that is defaulting on its Kaupthing Edge subsidiary's payments to customers.
Ing has a responsibility to make these payments now and to recover any frozen monies from Adminsustrators, clearing banks, or cyberspace at their leisure, not at ours.
Ing know from Kaupthing Edge who is owed what. Is it lawful for Ing to hold on the customers' money on the premise that it is temporarliy inconvenient?
Ing don't appear to have realised that they have a primary duty to fulfil their contract with customers and are content to let it appear they are unable to make payments because third parties (Administrators to Kaupthing Edge etc) won't allow it.
Any organisation with any integrity or interest in its reputation (obviously not Ing) would make the payments to individuals first and follow up their internal recovery/balancing actions later.
I believe Ing is in breach of trust, if not behaving unlawfully.0 -
I would not play their game of "let's teasingly feed hope to our depositors, so that we can prolong their missing deposits as long as we can"
Take proactive action. Get out of their loop of false hopes and contact the media, Financial Ombudsman and ING's CEO and Customer Manager.
This needs the public awareness raised, as that's the only thing that will worry ING.
The lack of support from politicians and the Treasury has been shameful.
What about a large LY-ING banner on Tower Bridge..?? :j0 -

Whatever issues with the administrator or clearing bank has NOTHING to do with us. They must return our monies immediately and resolve their issues among themselves, not while holding our monies at ransom. Unless you are a suspected terrorist (don't think any of us are), THEY DO NOT HAVE THE AUTHORITY, NOR THE POWER TO FREEZE OUR MONIES!!!
Anyone calling KE/ING, don't fall into their "we have administrator and clearing bank" issues TRAP/LOOP.... just tell them: WE WANT OUR MONIES NOW!!! YOU (KE/ING) CAN SOLVE YOUR ISSUES AMONG YOURSELVES LATER! YOU DO NOT HAVE THE POWER, NOR AUTHORIZATION TO HOLD MY MONEY!
The funds to pay us back were provided by our own FSCS and should have not gone anywhere near the administrators.0 -
Just out of interest, are people calling or emailing the financial ombudsman? Sorry if this has been posted already, it's just I want to log a complaint but want to be sure I'm doing it in the right way, and the way everybody else is doing it.No more offshore banking for me :rolleyes:0

Best bet is to visit the web site www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk and fill in the PDF or Word on line form, print it off and post it with any substantiating documents.0
