Can everyone stop mentioning shoes please.... have just got back from town to find the dog has eaten one of mine!!

Bridie - i remember years ago coming home form work to find that my german shepherd puppy had managed to open the cloakroom door and had eaten 42 pairs of shoes and boots  she had even chewed the stiletto heels off the boots. My only pair of shoes left were the cra**y ones that i had gone to work in, Mr Sunnyday`s were all intact.

    Catch up later guys

    Hello all,

Have not read any of the threads this week so ((((HUGS))) to those in need, congrats, happy birthdays etc

I have the dreaded winter cold, it is just moving on to the winter cough stage .

My Mum is visiting this weekend, the house is a tip *sigh* but I have done 50+ hours at work already AND I'm ill so surely she will understand. She is here for the whole weekend, so hopefully she will help me sort some things out.

Want to make broccolli and stilton soup, butternut squash soup ready for the freezer. Other than that, not a lot happening.

    Breakfast: Weetabix
    Lunch: Work canteen
Dinner: Sausage and mash OR fish and chips

    Have a good one

  • Morning all, very bright and sunny here today, house is quiet at the mo, DH fast asleep off night shift so i have managed to clean downstairs and pack ebay parcels ready for posting later on. Going to hairdressers at 12.45 for my usual cut, then will do my own colour later today. Need to pop to bank and also pick up milk and potatos for the weekend.
Will definitley go for stair carpet today and get that down tomorrow when DH is off work, well thats my money spent,
Had a nice long phone call from DS yesterday from the Braemar cruise ship only another few days before he sets off for Miami, alright for some!!!
I always make lists too and am never without a pad and pen next to me, sometimes its the only way i can remember what i am supposed to be doing, this damn menopause lol.
Have a good day all BSB xx

Morning all, just sat with a cuppa, having a minute.I've got the slow cooker on with a turkey leg in for later. The dog 's been walked so thats the last I'll hear from him till lunchtime.
I put the blind up I made yesterday to check how it looks. It just needs a final press and tweak and jobs a good'un.Still some more sewing to do yet but I must tackle the ironing-the pile is in dangerof being taller than me,so that's NEXT (definately...lol)
I am renowned for my notebooks-love em.Trouble is I have too many and I forget where I've written what (if that makes sense)
This afternoon I am trying to get the office/craft room in some sort of order-I started yesterday moving files,pc and printer and making more room for stuff on the shelves so I can keep the desk clearer as it does DH's head in when its full of my craft stuff.
I am making some headway with the shredding pile since we got our super-duper shredder from costco the other week-we've got stuff going back for years in the loft.DH has papers going back to 1975 when he became self-employed! Says they are useful as reference:rolleyes: ,but has now given me permission to get rid of some :j
Anyway sitting here will not get that ironing done, and my cuppa was finished ages ago...

Best wishes Candygirl, thinking of you today.
(((Hugs ))) anyone else who would like one.xx

Hi everyone - my first post since I returned from my Mum's last night. I've been thoroughly spoilt since Sunday and have hardly done a thing except make my bed and the odd cup of tea! We've spent a lot of time shopping because she wanted to take me to her three favourite towns in Wiltshire.Lots of OS to get through today. DH decided to save all his washing for when I came back saying it was moneysaving. First load is on with another load to go in. I've taken mince out of the freezer for spaghetti bol tonight. We had porridge for breakfast and I've yet to decide on lunch. My ex-boss has asked me to cover reception for him from 17th to 28th November and I think he was finding out what I was up to because his nurse is leaving soon and he is having trouble recruiting a replacement. I'm doing the two weeks he has asked me to do and, if he asks me to go back permanently I can't really turn it down. So many people are losing their jobs now I think I'd be mad to turn down the offer of one. My DH is busy for now but that probably won't last so there is a lot to consider. Anyway, I have time to think about it! My own work from home does not yet pay what I could be earning if I went back to the surgery but do I want the supercharged stress again at my age?!I can't thank anyone because every time I click the 'thanks' button it just refreshes the page for some reason. I haven't had time to read any of the thread since Sunday so I hope everyone is well. Lots of (((hugs))) to all in need.See you later.KathyXX

    morning all :D
Just did a sewing job for a neighbour and earned £10 :j and now I've got my machines set up and cleared the clutter off my industrial one I think I'm going to do some more sewing today...I'm in the mood!

I made DS3 a spongebob quiltop aages ago and have yet to finish it off so plan to do that one and I made a lapquilt just from 3 pairs of old jeans cut into squares.
I used a black pair,a dark blue pair and a stonewash blue pair..looks cool enough for DS3 to use
I've kept the offcuts for making some gardening gloves.
That little lot will get me out of doing any housework today:rotfl:
Parents coming later so they cook dinner for the boys chips'n'bits so only OH to worry about as I've got the remains of yesterdays lush turkey casserole to eat
Hope everyone has a great day

    morning all :hello:

beautiful sunny day here in Wales :D
I've got the study window open and I can hear loads of birds singing :)
just changed the bed and put bedding in WM, I slept until 10!!! so 11 hrs sleep
managed to do a bit of ironing yesterday, I'm hoping that by next Wed, when I'm due back to work, the washing and ironing will be up to date,

DD and DS off school today and all next week, not a peep out of either of them yet
we always do a housework list on the kitchen board for the weekend, I draw up the list and we take turns to choose jobs, then cross off as they get done :D

dinner tonight will be 'steak and jackets' from my WW book, basically a stew with braising steak and carrots, onions, parsnips, poured over a baked potato, we all love it :D the juices soak into the potato, no need for butter!!!

lunch will be soup, probably parsnip as I've got more than I'll need for tonight, but I'll bet DD will want to make broccoli and cheese soup, that's her fave :)

have a lovely day all x
