    Hello everyone

I'm back from the vet with Dylan and I'm afraid it is not good at all. He isn't making any progress and the choices are very bleak. There is the possibility of surgery to remove a large chunk of his intestine. That would leave him with permanent diahorrea and a reduced quality of life and I have to ask myself is that really fair on him. The other alternative that my vet can offer is euthanasia. I am looking into complementary veterinary medicine and have contacted four such vets in N.Ireland - one is away until Monday, and the other three only have answering machines. I'm totally and utterly sick with worry for my wee boy.

    Afternoon all

I'm a bit earlier than I was yesterday.

Snowy I'm so sorry it's bad news for poor Dylan. Life just isn't fair sometimes.
Shock, horror, I have to actually do ironing today!   Usually Mr LW does it on a Sunday; but I need to starch some material for my costume for the Samhain (Hallowe'en) party, and I said I'd clear the bit of ironing as well.

I'm still not certain that going to the party is a good idea:confused: I don't function well in crowds.

Will probably do nut loaf (HM from the freezer) with rice and HM sweet'n'sour sauce for dins tonight. That's the plan, anyway.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Hi everyone,

Snowy, I'm so sorry to hear the news about Dylan. You must be devastated but I hope you can get some help from the other vets.

Essex girl, I was sorry to read about your Nan. ((hugs))

Candygirl, I hope you're ok. xx

Belated birthday wishes to Joannasmum and Happy Anniversary to the Churchies.

I haven't been keeping up with the thread this week as Haribo was over so we were out and about a fair bit and not a lot of old styling has been going on. We did find a fantastic craft shop and both of us spent more than we should have but it was worth it and the things we got were lovely. We took the littlies to High School Musical 3 on Wednesday and apparently I embarrassed her. I have done a fair bit of cleaning though, so that my very house proud sister could run her finger over the top of the doors and not find anything. Some hope...I didn't reckon on her examining my spice jars...not only did she find dust on some of them, but she found a jar of paprika that was years out of date. :o Needless to say I handed her a duster and told her if she didn't like it to sort it out herself. :D I wish she lived closer and she could do all my housework! ;)

Today ds1 is off on a Duke of Ed expedition in the Mourne Mountains so I made a chicken broth for him to take in a flask for his lunch. I'll use the rest of the chicken to make a chicken fried rice for tea.

I'm back to work this weekend and not particularly looking forward to it, but at least the house is clean and tidy and the meal plans for the weekend are all sorted out.

    Take care all,

    Pink

 I note that you are being coy about exactly HOW old it was? :p Let's just say that it wasn't much younger than a few of the posters on here. :D

It was lovely to see you and the family last week. You're my favourite big sister and the 3 boys are a credit to you and your cooking is still definitely better than mine[strike].(but if you ever cry at the ending of a children's film again with me there I will suffocate you with any sweets that you haven't managed to eat) [/strike] ;):D:p:kiss: xxx

Snowy.... My heart goes out to you pet. Take care. xxx

Candy.. I hope you and the family get comfort from eachother today. xxx

Churchie.... Belated Happy Anniversary to you and Himself. :D

    Panda :hello:

Got back last night after an awful flight and terrible drive through the storms. The weather is awful with high winds and hailstones.

OSing with avenegeance today as OH was alone for ten days and couldn't seem to locate the laundry basket, washing machine and a clean cloth in all that time. He dd work bl00dy hard in the office though so I can't complain.
I plan on kicking him and the littlies out tommorrow (regardless of the weather) and get stuck into my kitchen again. I was spoiled rotten while I was away but I missed cooking so tommorrow I plan to batch cook and bake all day.
The house is cleaned downstairs now and we've just had a late lunch so I'll venture upstairs in a mo to tackle the bedrooms and unpacking. Picked up my meat order from the butcher earlier so need to meal plan around a chicken, 4 lamb joints and a dozen beef sausages.
Tea will be M&S £10 deal of Chicken pie, mash and sticky toffee pudding.

Have a lovely day all. I'm off to light my fire.

    Haribo x

Edited to add. OH got an energy monitor while I was gone which is very scary. I'm sure it will save us money as it's set up in the hall and I'm switching things off like a mad woman to get the figures as low as possible so I'd definitely recommend it.
