    Hello everyone

I'm back from the vet with Dylan and I'm afraid it is not good at all. He isn't making any progress and the choices are very bleak. There is the possibility of surgery to remove a large chunk of his intestine. That would leave him with permanent diahorrea and a reduced quality of life and I have to ask myself is that really fair on him. The other alternative that my vet can offer is euthanasia. I am looking into complementary veterinary medicine and have contacted four such vets in N.Ireland - one is away until Monday, and the other three only have answering machines. I'm totally and utterly sick with worry for my wee boy.

Hi Snowy i really feel for your predicament with Dylan i was in the same place a few years ago with a gorgeous young bull mastiff dog called sonny, he was given to us by my sister who bred them as he had "cow hock" and she was gong to have him put down. We said we would take him and he went on another year with us, we were in rather dire financial circumstances at the time and we contacted vets all over the country to try and help us. Even if we had had unlimited money there was no guarantee that the operation would work. We did however eventually have to have him put to sleep, in the knowledge we had given him a good quality of life for the time he had remaining , i hope everything works out for you BSB xx

The best place to start looking for cheap and easy recipes is probably here.

I think that if you buy jars and packets of sauces when they're on offer then you may well find that cooking from scratch is a bit more expensive. However, you're not comparing like with like. Home cooked using simple ingredients is always going to be nicer.

Squiggly - not sure what I am going to do to the rocking chair, he is already stripped so that is good. Not even sure what room it will go in yet. But I did buy the lovely fleecey throw for it.

Thanks Squiggly!I don't know if anyone can shed any light but I can't seem to get any line-spacing in my posts. I can get it when I am typing but, when I post, the result has no spaces between the lines. I have tried to update the charity knitting thread which has a list of names and totals so it needs the line-spacing to make it readable.I should have four gaps in this post but it will post as if it is all one paragraph. I hope I have explained the problem easily and that someone can help? Please??!KathyXX
