One extension comes from the master ( which appears to have Orange/White in No 5) and goes to an extension that I wired as per the normal wiring;
2 : Blue/White
3: Orange/White
5 : White/Blue
I then ran a wire onto another extension and then onto another.
If your extension is wired as above 2 - Blue/White and 5 -White/Blue simply connect the same at the master and leave terminal 3 with no connection.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
i bet this has been asked before and ive read most of this thread but not seen the answer.
ok, in my home i have a master socket in the hall way, my phone line is connected to that with one of those filters. now my living room has a socket too but this is a brass one hat yu buy from BandQ also have a socket in my bedroom but this has nothing in it as i do not use it.
do you just remeove the bellwire from the master socket or do you have to explore all the others too?
Also if you just plug your phone lineinto the test socket does that mae it go faster too, providing you put in the filter there too.
sorry if this has already been asked.All the big powers they've silenced me. So much for free speech and choice on this fundamental human right, and outing the liars.0 -

By using the master test socket, you are isolating any extension wiring. If the extension wiring is correctly wired using the correct cable you should not notice any difference to the speed when using it.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

It depends if you have anything plugged into the master socket faceplate. If all extensions are hard wired to the master faceplate, then simply don't connect the ringing wire to terminal 3 or disconnect it if connected.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

ive not removed my master socket face flate, but im presuming there are going to be more wires in there as i have 2 extentions. i think the number 3 wire and the 2 and 5, but what would beinther that is connecting my 2 other sockets in my home.All the big powers they've silenced me. Your other two extensions should be hard wired to the lower removable master faceplate. This it to enable any extension wiring to be isolated, as this is your responsibility.:doh: Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
From what you describe, I would go round the hourse and swap all the wiring in each socket so that they are all wired correctly. That way you know that they will all work to their optimum.
I agree - that would be the best solution.
However I'm not sure I can cope with that - most of the extensions have screw terminals and I had a lot of bother with them when I did the last lot. I ended up replacing them with extensions with IDC connectors.
I'll look tomorrow and see what is best to do.0
