My telephone connection box is ancient. I imagine I do. It's so old it has the old fashion T logo.0

Its for people with poor noise margin, the faster the ADSL connection the more the inherent noise caused by internal wiring will have an effect on performance.
The bell wire acts as an aerial which puts noise onto the ADSL carrier.
From what I can see the iplate is quite thick sic, and needs there to be a bit of slack in the extension connections, sods law dictates that fitting one could dislodge one or more of the IDC connections on the back of the existing faceplate, so if you want a neat finish get an XTE 2005, if you are happy with a dangling dongle, remove the bell wire.
I'm now going to research a cheap blood pressure meter for expresso:rotfl:That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
By Sync do you mean the speed my router says I'm connected at?0

Thanks. I'll have a look when I get home. So 8Mb isn't possible?
for general browsing and video streaming, the perceived difference between 2 meg and 8 meg is...er....not noticeable, pages may take an extra quarter of a second to load. Most people's issues with 'slow internet' has a lot more to do with congestion latency and packet loss than actual sync/profile (read bad isps), unless you download I'd really not worry too much about a 7 meg rather than 8 meg sync, and I certainly wouldn't spend money trying to fix a problem which may not exist, though if you feel strongly that cash is the way to go, could I tempt you with a nice, unpopened bottle of 100% pure Alaskan Albino Snake Oil, pm me for a price, I don't want everyone to see the good deal I'm offering.

Thanks.
I presume this link: http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/IPprofile.htm
Will tell me my IP Profile and if it's 7150 then I shouldn't bother? My Netgear Router ranges between 6.7Mb-7.5Mb but usually around 7Mb, which you guys say is the Sync.
