Following on from having my cental heating installed, part of the work involved removing the back boiler, gas fire and fireplace. This has left an 'ole in my flotex approx 4'x2'. Works supervisor suggested (as I can't afford to replace all the flotex and that particular design was an end of line, so can't get a 'patch' to put in) slates or similar.
I got some vinyl tiles yesterday that look like charcoal slate, but some of them need cutting to size. Now, I've managed to lay 3 of the 6 tiles (self-adhesive) which didn't need anything more strenuous doing to them than peeling off the backing. The problem is the other 3 which will all need to be reduced in size in order to get them all to fit.
Apart from a Stanley knife with a new blade for each tile, is there an easier way of cutting them? Having trimmed 1 tile, I'm knackered and my hands (among other things) are killing me. Any suggestions?s/e0 -

Is there anyway you can score the tile with something heated to take some of the effort out of cutting it? That's all I can think of at the moment.
Or is there a local hardware store that might cut them to size for you?
Edit to say just checked a DIY site that recommends heating tiles with a hairdryer first as it makes them easier to cut and then using scissors?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
