By the way - has anyone had any innoculations recently that hurt FAR more than they should've?
I had my flu jab the other week and she offered me a (new?) pneumonia jab at the same time - which I took, why the hell not? - but OH MY WORD I suffered for it afterwards! The pneumonia job was far more painful than the flu one, but neither was at all comfortable!
Just sitting here wondering...cos my aching shoulders reminded me..."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
ooooh i got those boots from tesco last saturday when it was 3rd off
they even keep my poor freezing cold feet warm, iv never had anything like them.... even my dh is impressed when i get into bed :rotfl:
i dont have the flu jab .... tried it once and was in bed ill for days so now i takes my chances
another thing i meant to ask earlier - i think i have a pretty high pain threshhold with the FMS pains but if i do something silly like get a paper cut it hurts like hell2009-£7500 2010 £10800 2011 £2000

Hi all
I'm beginning to think I inherited this FM from my Father, he suffered with pains all around his body for as long as I knew him (55 years). He was always told it was arthritis. This was when doc's used saws to remove limbs. You'd think they would have got it right by know.
I also inherited heart decease and diverticulitis from my mother, so I really didn't stand much of a chance did I. I still loved them both and after seeing how some of my ex. foster kids were bought up, I consider myself very lucky.
I also have always from a child suffered with chin splints and could never do distance running only sprints.
Does anybody else get pains in there eyes, like having a blunt needle poked into the back of the eye, I've had my eyes tested many times but they can't find any reason, and the last time I went to the optician my prescription had improved from the previous time. It occurred to me that the latest visit was on one of my good days and the previous visit was on a bad day. Funny that.
If your all still awake after reading all that, have the best 24 you can.0 -
Sorry to hear things are not going well Roxsi
do you see a consultant about FM i saw once he diagnosed me and then discharged me
i have had a bad couple of days with my back,
some of the things people are talking about are ringing bells with me. like painful wrists i had many years ago ,
but i don't have the tiredness people talk about . does every one have that?
pain keeps me awake a bit
and i have tried antidepressants but they stopped them as i was so dizzy but i don't feel i am depressed but frustrated by the pain the not been able to do what i want too and the Dr's and their attitudes they are always right
i was in hospital last week and i had 5 different diagnoses for my pain and they did not even do the right blood tests i could just scream
sorry for the rant
Dr has upped the gabapentin so I'm pretty sedated just now
hope every one has a better day tommorow or the best they can0 -

deptfreemoneytart, i have had my eyes tested loads of times due to a pain in my left eye, i always say its like someone poking it out from the back... no one else has ever understood me before. I recently went to the gp about it as everytime i leant forward or moved quickly the pain was immense and just behind my eye. She just said that it was related to my migraines [ i get a terrible one where im throwing up around once a month purely due to being so exhausted] but i wasnt convinced about that as its not the same pain. ahh well its just another thing to add to the list that gets longer every week :rotfl: im sure my friends think im a hypochondriac2009-£7500 2010 £10800 2011 £2000

Seconding the thanks to Cwta
Debtfree and Raeh, I have the same kind of pain, usually behind the left eye. I always thought it was maybe swollen sinuses related..? Either way I feel like there's some pressure needing releasing - I have the same feeling when I have swollen sinuses/sinusitis (which is more frequent than it should be and kept me in bed for 2 months last year cos I couldn't do anything other than lie back because of the pressure and pain) - when I just want to put some kind of pressure release valve in behind the eyeball or into the top of my nose!
Raeh - as for the hypochondriac - I'm pretty sure I've gone way beyond that point and 99.9% of people don't listen to my grumbles/symptoms etc anyway... I'm not even sure that the people who ask and say they mean it really want to know how you are! One of my best friends told me last year that he wasn't even convinced there was anything wrong with me, and my oldest sister told me about 6 months ago that she always just thought I was a hypochondriac. My ex thinks my troubles have all started since I broke up with him!!! :rotfl:"I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -

Thanks Jo. Sorry I didn't answer yesterday, but I was in bed by the time the question was asked. I didn't expect taking the car for its annual service would leave me so tired and painful yesterday.
Pain in the eyes? Ooh, yes - like someone's sticking needles in the back of them. I've found that it's linked (in me) to a sensitivity to light, so I rarely leave the house without sunglasses (and if it's really bright, on those rare summer days, 2 pairs).s/e0 -

Sadly, for him, my health actually improved slightly once I'd shown him the door. Probably 'cos I was no longer walking on egg-shells the whole time waiting for the next row to start.s/e0 -
I once asked a doctor if I was a hypochondriac and he looked at me very seriously and said - 'unfortunately not'. Ah well!!
Everything about me is aching today - even my fingertips when I type, so I'm off back to bed soon. It gives my OH a break without me complaining and getting 'waspish'.
Does anyone else get 'sludgy' eyes. Like there's a film over them that smears the vision and - I dunno - seems to make them respond more slowly. They always end up aching when they're like this.
