s/e Thank goodnes I live in a flat as the thought of having to go upstairs to get dressed would defeat me every time.
Stay in your dressing gown and be warm and cuddly. There seem to be lots of plays on the radio at the moment, particularly online - Radio 7 and such. There are so many bugs poing round I wouldn't be at all suprised if you picked on up going cheap on the shopping trip. Visiting has just been cancelled at local Hossie due to Norovirus. I've experienced that once and it's not to be recommended. Still, the projectile vomiting made sure the bathroom got a good clean once I recovered!
I keep a bottle of the hand sanitiser they use in Hospitals in my handbag and use it a lot when I have to venture to shops etc. It does dry your skin out, but I would rather that than risk all the unfriendly bacteria around these days. I also wip car steering wheel with it everyso often, although that might be overkill.
Have a good day all, and no overdoing it. Coz I said so *grin*I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Do you think we'll ever see a return to those adverts about not passing your bugs on to other people? So many people seem to have forgotten how these things spread. I wonder what they're taught in biology now?Careful_with_that_Axe wrote: »Have a good day all, and no overdoing it. Coz I said so *grin*s/e0 -
Oh gawd. I'm not bossy am I? Know I'm a control freak who likes people to do as I say, but ....
Drove through town on way to top up lecky and gas metres so they don't run out whilst I'm away; credit crunch??!! Bah :rolleyes:I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Besides, I wouldn't dare tell you that you're bossy.s/e0 -
Am doing good at pacing myself here; doing 40 mins or so and hen a sit down (for a fag). Have even taken down and washed nets which is a job I dread as I always put my neck out and I'm scared of step ladder. One lot re-hung and I'm having a veg before I do the hardest ones. Plus side of moving about so much today is I haven't had to put heating on. Minus side is that excema has come up under my arm and I've run out of hydrocortisone. Pooh Bum.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0

hi
i am confused re dla and motability. i thought they were two separate allowances so not sure how the dla can be swallowed up by the motability or need for car. arent the cars free or you can choose to spend the money towards one of your choice and still get the dla component
i have been diagnosed with fibro and ibs and have arthritic knees so difficulty standing and walking. applied for dla which dwp claim they have not received so filling in another booklet which this time i will send recorded. have some home aids and blue badge.
pain can be really bad some days and always falling asleep. fibro people are supposed to be poor sleepers and to lose out on deep dream sleep. some days i close my eyes and full technicolour films run thru my brain in seconds! wonder if this is a compensation mechanism as i am awake just closed my eyes like when i am watching tv.

hanvic, my understanding is that is you are in receipt of the highest level of dla, you can swap the mobility component of the award for the car? I may be wrong, but we have a few experts here who will be along to clarify, I'm sure.
I know you lot like to laugh at my stoopidness, but I've taken it to new heights today. I would like to go swimming whilst I'm away, so I thought I would have a trim up "down there". Had some clippers that I've never used before. Well, I didn't know you had to attach one of the blade thingies to control the length of the trim. Are stripes of No.1 more fashionable than a brazilian these days? :rotfl:
I even managed to cut the sidde of my thigh whilst doing the gardening - now there's a scab I'm not going to be picking! :eek:I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
hanvic, this link should help you.

If you are awarded the the higher rate of mobility for at least 3 years, then you are eligible to apply for a motability car. Mobility and Motability are seperate things. If you decide to go for a motability vehicle, you used your mobility component to pay for the car. Sorry to disillusion you, but no-one get a 'free' car.
You make a choice as to which is more important - handing over your mobility component to someone who in return provide you with a car of your choice (to a degree - the majority of the cars will require a deposit, plus your total allowance. Some of these deposits run into hundreds or thousands of pounds), comprehensive insurance, (you automatically qualify for a road tax exemption so that's not really a benefit to having a motability car), 'free' servicing, Breakdown Cover and (I believe) new tires after 10,000 miles. What you don't do is own the car so after 3 years you either have to pay a hefty chunk to own it outright or you start again with a new car. The alternative is that you take out a loan and buy a car and use your mobility component to repay the loan. Once you have repaid the loan the car is yours. You also have to pay for servicing, MOT (when it becomes due), breakdown cover, etc.
I hope that clears up the confusion for you.s/e0 -
