As for the hot flushes, I get mad hot/sweaty spells and it's symptomatic of the ME. I suspect that it's symptomatic of the medely (sp?) of things you guys have too..? I'm with s/e on this one Cwta. And no, I wouldn't've laughed. Believe it or not."I am indelibly stained by hope and longing" - Nuts in May0 -
Hello,
Does anyone get symptoms of low blood sugar?
I had my breakfast at about eight am this morning then had a break about half eleven. By half eleven I was shaking until I ate something. I then went home at had some lunch at about 1.20pm. It keeps happening. I have read that some people with Fibro can suffer from diabetes like symptoms but not have diabetes in the strict medical definition, but have the same symptoms. I also go to the loo alot and I am very thirsty. But I suppose that could be my anti-depressants making me thirsty then making me drink alot and then go the loo alot.
Anyaway I'll shut up now!:A0 -
I only get the low blood sugar type thing very occasionally, but I am always thirsty and tend to drink several litres a day. I get dehydration headaches if I don't and, as I used to suffer from recurrent cystitis, I try to keep my fluid level topped up.
I think so many of the drugs we are on have side-effects, it can be quite difficult to spot a symptom from a side effect.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

Hi Raeh - d'you think maybe that you're not functioning quite so well because maybe your body is still trying to recover from your car crash...perhaps?
I would take the opportunity to have a R.E.S.T. over the Christmas hols if I was you, esp as you wouldn't listen to us a few weeks ago
Elmostreet - I'm with Cwta, I too get really thirsty etc and can get the shakes if I've not eaten for a while. It's my excuse for copious amounts of chocolateBut seriuosly, I do usually keep a chocolate coin or a lollipop or something of that ilk in my handbag for a shaky moment.

suep, thanks for the link to Prof Davies. Mum did see him a couple of times and thought he was fab. She saw him regarding her Lupus.
Raeh, thanks. Sis is on the mend so plans are back on. I'm quite laid back about things these days, so I would have been sorely disappointed if I had to cancel, but would have put it into perspective quite quickly. I do hope you take some time out for yourself, get some pampering and stop playing with your new haircut *grin*.
Glad I'm not alone with the hot flushes (iyswim), it's horrid when it happens in a hot shop and all you can do is stand there dripping til it passes.
BZ, I'm very good at dishing out advice and not so good at taking it myself. I know you're sensible enough to take your foot injury seriously (how's that for a bit of emotional blackmail!), but sometimes I need to say things even when I know the other person knows what to do.
s/e, you were missed when you weren't here and I hope you're still taking baby steps while you recover.
Gave myself a stern talking to last night after realising if I stopped spending all my time worrying about everything I needed to do and just got on with it, I would achieve so much more.
My Masters Degree - prevarication.
Gently, folks.

In the meantime, may I suggest that you have something like porridge for breakfast (if you can cope with eating in the morning) and keeping a supply of bananas near to hand. They're both very high in fibre and will help to keep your blood glucose levels more stable.s/e0 -

I'm still plodding somewhat, and had a really rough night last night. Finally got to sleep around 6.00 this morning and was woken by my phone about 9.15. I'm hoping that if I tough it out and stay awake today I'll catch up on some sleep tonight. Oh, to be able to sleep through a whole night without waking!
You're very kind about my knitting - they actually look a lot more difficult than they are. I can only manage very simple patterns these days - anything beyond a 4 row pattern with an 8 stitch repeat and I get hopelessly confused with it. The lilac one I'm doing now (as a replacement for the purple one) has been greatly simplified in order to be able to complete it. That 24 row border is a killer - it takes so much concentration.
I may well have a bolero pattern in amongst my stash. If you're interested, let me know and I'll have a look and post a couple of scans*. I've acquired a huge amount of patterns via a well know auction site - many of which I'll probably never use, but ended up with them because there were 3 or 4 patterns in a lot that I wanted, and ended up with a few more for good measure.
*I've no intention of breaching copywright law - if there's anything that appeals to you, I'll happily send the original pattern, not a copy.s/e0 -

Take care folks.s/e0
