  • Mystery shopping work is great as you are in control...the only huge problem I have is I have no memory with the fibro :( BRAIN FOG!
  • Natasha, you fill in the questionnaire almost immediately, which is the only reason I manage to do it!

Sharon, I hope you feel an improvement soon.

Roxsi, PM on it's way to you as soon as I've copied links etc.

This doesnt help me , I like simple mystery shops where your scenario matches your life as much as possible...I'm ok remembering names but numbers I will forget almost instantly :(

Just a quick question for you all , O/H went to pain clinic the other night for the first time they have decided that because he has tried most treatments for the FMS ( they either dont work or have terrible side effects) the next course of treatment they want to try is a Lignocaine IV infusion , has anybody had one of these? do they work and are there any side affects, the other thing they are going to try is accupuncture!! well you can but hope that one of these is going to help.

    Hi,

I had Procaine Infusions, every three months for around 12 years, then they were stopped because the rheumatology professor who promoted them retired. Unfortunately I had already had to give them up as I had anaphylactic shock after an infusion. The doctors think it wasn't so much the Procaine I was allergic to, as some additive in the mix.

Procaine is similar to Lignacaine, they are both used as local anaesthetics but there was only one person in the group who had this, because he had done his own research and (from what I heard) insisted. The professor wasn't an advocate of Lignacaine, I did ask him once and he said that there were more problems with it (I think) to do with blood pressure.

The way the Procaine was administered was by an IV drip in a very diluted solution 4% mixed with saline in a 500ml bottle. I used to attend a day unit for three consecutive days and and have a bottle infusion each day. It was very popular, due to the lack of side-effects and there was a great hue and cry when it was discontinued, as most people thought it was probably down to cost cutting although of course the PCT denied this:rolleyes:.

If there's anything else you need to know - just ask and if I can answer - I will.
