Good evening and hello to you all.
I have been reading this thread for a couple of weeks and love it.
I have ????????? whether I have fibro because of certain symtoms and have plucked up the courage to ask my doc.I am now having blood tests on friday to see if there are markers ?? in my blood amongst other things. She did say that fibro will be the final diagnosis .Alas she goes off for maternity leave tomorrow so will have to see some one else.
My first question I would like to ask you all is whether any one gets awfull bowel pain.I get a pain in my back passage which feels like someone is twisting it from inside ,always happens in the night and unbareable.Doc said "oh its your IBS" but I'm doubtfull because happens when I'm not having any other IBS symtoms.
My other question is for my husband who has arthritus and takes tramadol 100mg twice a day slow release. If he forgets a dose (as he did on sat am) He gets terrible withdrawal symtoms and even taking the next dose doesn't kick in quick enough to help.Does any one know if you can get tramadol that works quick
I think you are all amazing the way you seem to cope and I am nowhere near as bad as you all sound.:A
love to all,
regards Hassie(mrs)
Forgot to add best person to ask re dosage of medication would be your pharmacist ,just give chemist a ring and they should be able to advice you xx0 -
Welcome hassie, jump in and join the fun,
I can't help with your questions as I haven't experienced anything quite like you describe. although, my IBS has always been far worse in the mornings and I only recently learnt that this is quite common. Is it the early morning that you get the pain? It does sound a bit like a spasm. What, if anything are you taking for the IBS?I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
Hi cwta, take Alverine Citrate (spasmonal 60mg) and at the moment I am living on co codamol and ibobrufen ?sp.The pain comes on in the middle of the night and is awfull.I get terrible right side pain and have not long had an internal scan which made me hit the roof.Scan person said shouldnt be like that go and see doc.He gave me two different antibiotics for 10 days and has made a big differance for now.Have also got diverticulitus .I work part time and am also my mums carer so busy busy.I have found that alot of my symtoms are far worse when I'm upset and depressed which I have been recently.I have started to take 5htp for this as is suppossed to help the seretonin levels in the brain, will wait and see early days yet.I am truly amazed at the amount of symtoms I have incommon with alot of you on here.I have suffered for years with cystitus like pain but very rarely show infection.Thank you for taking the time to read my post/s luv me xx0

An awful lot of these types of pains are made worse by stress, in fact have just remembered my sis has something similar.
I would suggest going back to your doc and trying to make them listen. Are they aware that you are depressed and stressed? Seriously, depression is not something to suffer in silence when there's so much more help available. It sounds like you have a lot on your plate and I think feeling low is almost inevitable.
Do have another word with your GP.
Re max dose of co-codamol, mine is 30/500 and says on label no more than two at a time and 8 in 24 hours - yeah right!
Oh, and not to take with any other paracetamol products.I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -
BZ - not around? You home from MIL's?

Careful_with_that_Axe wrote: »Does anyone mourn for co-praxamol? It was so much more effective than anything else I've come across. Shame it had to be taken from the market.
i miss that drug so much, it was the only thing that sorted my headaches/migraines for years, nothing else is as effective (affective?). didnt realise they ahd taken it off the market though, i thought they just wouldnt give it to me anymore.
i laways make more mess when i go on a decluttering spree too, usually i get bored half way through too which makes it even worse.0 -
They took co-praxamol off the market as apparently, it ws causing heart problems. I made me feel very much calmer too!
i can sit here with the knowledge that the drawers are uncluttered, but the stuff that needs to be put somewhere else is now on the top of the table. *sigh*.
My GP pointed me towards this website to look at overlaps of drugs and contra-indications and some may find it helpful: http://www.subscriberx.com/iqhealth/drugselect.asp
p.s. raeh, what on earth is hendersons??!I must go, I have lives to ruin and hearts to breakMy attitude depends on my Latitude 49° 55' 0" N 6° 19' 60 W0 -

CwtA wrote:Raeh, you must still be so sore. I get my paracetamol on prescription as I get 200 (I think) at a time and I think you can only buy 12 x 2 at a time. Think it might be an idea to call again tomorrow and get them to clarify and maybe ask for a prescription. So, are you now going to sue for personal injury?! Normally I would make a joke about compensation culture, but I wouldn't blame you if you did.
Hubby joked earlier about 'have you had an accident that wasnt your fault? then ring ....' :rotfl: if id have been badly hurt i may have considered it but i think most of my pain is due to having fms as well and iv been affected by the bang more than a 'normal' person?CwtA wrote:My GP pointed me towards this website to look at overlaps of drugs and contra-indications and some may find it helpful: http://www.subscriberx.com/iqhealth/drugselect.asphassie wrote:Forgot to add best person to ask re dosage of medication would be your pharmacist ,just give chemist a ring and they should be able to advice you xxil have a look at that but i will nip in and ask the pharmacist as im totally confused about cocodamol as iv never had that before.
